I’m still not over this and I never will be. Just— LOOK AT THEMMM!!! I love the difference of Sun cowering in fear while Moon stands tall even though he’s just as scared and they’re both crying and AWWGGHH!!!!!! IM IN LOVE WITH THIS!!!! I love the emotion of it sniffle…

I really wish I was able to do more and color these, but alas I ran out of time. Regardless I had a lot of fun even though I crunched them all in a week!

This year was very fun and i can see how well I've been doing since last year. While I didn't get everyone i wanted to, I'm still pleased with what I could get through. These are arranged by the time they took me (1 to 7 hours) to complete rather than when.

I know I've been gone for a while. I really have been busy with a lot of personal stuff. But I will still try to post! My phone had some problems and I had to restart on the comics I was working on so I don't know when they'll be here. 🥲 BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON THEM!!!

Last round of attacks!:D

Okay let's dive back into some facts for this au.

Sun and Moon share one body. They have been created around two decades ago, close to the end of the war. Living Toys that had been created as a weapon during the time of war, are mostly called Living Dolls. As a Living Doll their body had been modified to be able to unfold itself to make room for a second pair of hands. All their fingers have retractable claws. Sun tends to retract his claws. Moon in his apathetic state has them usually out. They also have four spike-covered, metal tendrils that can unfold themselves on their back. Those were used like whips during the war to keep Living Dolls from the enemy side at distance or to crush them if they had been from a lighter material. Their fully unfolded mode is when Sun and Moon are both taking control at the same time of their body to enter the 'Eclipse mode' for battle. Otherwise they change depending on day- and nighttime.

When they first entered the war zone, Sun and Moon hadn't been a lot experience and simply had followed what they had been told by the humans who commanded them. They had a small sense of self-awareness since their creation, but it hadn't been given the time to fully develop yet. During one of their earlier battles, they got damaged and had been send to a village close to the border for some repairs. For a year or so, they had been stationed there. They were ordered to patrol the village, to protect it, while they were being repaired again. During that time they become more acquainted with the villagers. Mostly with the kids, who would always follow them around all curiously. Sun and Moon often stopped by the orphanage. They let the little ones dangle from their arms, while giving them a lift. Playing and entertaining the kids or helping out the older folks was something they enjoyed much more than the fighting and battles they had only known before this. It was when they found themself growing a better grasp of who they were and what they liked or didn't liked. All the people, despite living so close to the war zone were really friendly towards them. But the war grew more and more furious during that one year. And so they soon were ordered to help out at the front again, leaving the village behind. It would be their last fight.

It was like a trance. One endless blurr of breaking the bodies and cores of other Living Dolls. To this day, they aren't sure how they were still standing at the end. They just know, that when they came back to their senses, that they had stepped through piles of torn and broken Living Dolls and human corpses. The sight had felt unreal. It still did years later. The humans in charge of them were no where to be seen. Perhaps they had been somewhere between the liveless remnants to their feet. Sun and Moon's own body had been in a messy state itself. Parts of their frame had been broken and one half of their upper right arm was torn off and lost somewhere on the battle field. They didn't cared. All they wanted was to go back to the village. But when they finally made it there three days later... ... the place they remembered so fondly and full of life had become a burned-out ruin.

Some Living Dolls and soldiers of the enemies had broken through the front lines during the battle and set the place afire. For a long time Sun and Moon had searched through the ruins of the buildings and between the rubble desperately for a living soul. But all they found was more corpses. It broke their heart. Over and over. If only they hadn't left. If only they hadn't followed the orders of those soldiers and had fleed the battlefield to come to protect these people instead. The only hope they had, that perhaps a few people had been able to be evacuated on time. For a day or two they waited. But when no one came back to the village or to look for them... They started to dig one hole after the next and to place the remains of whoever they found into the fresh graves. For the first time in their short lives, they grieved. For each person, they knew, their heart shattered a little bit. And yet, they hoped for a change. For someone to come back. Maybe if the village was rebuilt, the others would come back. They spend years over years, slowly rebuilding what they could, all by themselves. Always hoping that the survivors or some humans at all would come back.

Two years before meeting Y/N was the first time someone people had come closer towards the old abandoned village that Sun and Moon had rebuilt. Just to spot them and point out in fright to their contorted form. They were not greeted with the warmth they had hoped for. The humans that had come here feared appearance. Shortly after the war most remaining Living Dolls had been destroyed by both countries as a sign of good while to finally make peace. So seeing Sun and Moon like this felt like seeing an evil spirit, a remnant of the past left by all the broken cores of the Living Dolls. And so they were chased away without ever getting the chance to speak to these humans. Chased away from the place they had rebuilt in the hopes to live there peacefully once again with humans by their side. They fled. Confused and once again all alone. For a while they where hiding in the woods. Thinking about what to do. They wanted to try. To not give up. So they made up their mind to find another village or city. Maybe there they would find kinder humans. But wherever they tried showing themselves to someone, they always were met with fear and screams, while rocks and other things were thrown at them. It was so unfair. Because when hiding away... from the distance they could see, some humans living side by side with Living Toys. Why were those loved, while they were hated so much? Had they lost their purpose? Weren't they needed anymore? They never had asked to be created as a weapon. They didn't wanted to be one. They couldn't do it anymore. They couldn't go on like this. They wished they could take out their own core and crush it with their hands. But no Living Toy or Doll was able to destroy their own core intentionally. They needed to find someone who could. So during one night, they limped through the streets of a little town. Sneaking through the deepest of the night and through the side alleys. Their eyes landed on the sign of a shop. One of a toymaker. On the backside of the building, the workshop, was still some light flickering. They didn't hesitated, when they broke the window with their hand to smash the glas and climb inside.

And yeah, that's pretty much what happened to the poor babies before meeting you.

Some more smaller facts: They are also the only Living Toy with two hearts that you have ever heard about.

With time, the connection of Sun and Moon to their hearts (Lune and Sol) will grow stronger. Which can lead to some emotional reactions of Sun and Moon, even with their hearts still detached from their original body.

Working full-time 1000% ate into my drawing time, and I wished I could've attacked even more people, but alas ^^'
