My apologies if you've answered any of these questions i tried to (re)learn some stuff for this alien au but i could've missed something!
But I am most curious about the war!!!!! Who are the Tamoeians fighting against? What are like?? When did it begin??? Where (more specifically which planet started it lol point fingersXD) did the first war starting offense Why are the two neighboring planets fighting???? And!! What are the three little aliens beliefs and perspective on the reason for the war?

Ok ok ok! So I wrote a post about this but tumblr ate it and well at the time i couldn't be bothered rewriting it and then i forgot to ^^;

The Tamoeians are at war with The Eem from the planet Eemod.
In Tamoeian 'Eem' mean destroyers from and 'od' means darkness. Where 'Tam' means protecters of and 'oe' means Light and/or Energy. They are exact opposites basically.
The Eem are made of the absence of energy. They like the black whole their planet orbits, absorb energy. They are mostly peaceful or were before the war.
They came to the planet Tamoe many many centuries ago.
I'm gonna give you both halves of the story:
The Eem came to their planet and despite a language barrier The Tamoeians welcomed them with open arms for peaceful negotiations and the Eem stabbed them in the back, they attacked, the Emperors robot fell to the floor empty of any Tamoeians. They slaughtered their Emperor in broad daylight infront of everyone, the Eem ambassador had eaten them, it had absorbed their leaders and gone savage destroying their home, causing panic. So they defended their home and drove the evil Eem off the planet. They have been at war since to protect their people from being hunted as food and keep their beautiful planet safe from the savages. And swore to protect the rest of the universe from the Eem.
The Eem where looking for refuge, their planet is being destroyed (currently still is, time dilation and such but the planet is very unstable) by the black hole it orbits. They arrived at Tamoe, finding life other then theirs was exciting but scary. Communication was hard between beings from light years and light years away but they tried to tell them they come in peace and only wanted help to hopefully find a new place to live. The Eem absorb energy to survive and so far all the planets they've found don't have enough energy to sustain any large numbers of Eem, after a few years the planets all start to die. The day they met the Emperor of the Tamoeians couldn't have gone more wrong. Miscommunication and contrasting manners made everything worse. But the Emperor was about to agree on a peace agreement and the two species shook hands on the deal. On contact the Emperor collapsed into a pile of metal, all light absorbed into the Eem ambassador, it glowed the same blue the Emperor once was and was thrown into a fit of rage and madness going absolutely feral destroying anything in it's sight. They secured their feral ambassador and flee from the Tamoeians counter attack to a nearby plant in the neighbouring solar system. They've been fighting the Tamoeians since.
So Eclipse is actually a commander in the war, the Tamoeians are fed a lot of self righteous propaganda growing up and it's manditory to do at least 5 years service, Eclipse is on his 6th year. He is rather committed to the war signing up for a second term. His brother died for the cause... He also as mandated by the military is a part of the Galactic Officers Of Defence who take half year shifts every 2 years to protect the Galactic Space stations and planets under their care. The main threat Eem spies, the day job petty criminals of all species. At the start of the story Eclipse is very confident in his stance and part in the war. (But character development exists for a reason)
Sun and Moon are fresh out the Military Academy. Their stance is similar to Eclipse but less intense as they only have the propaganda to go off. They believe that the Tamoeians are in the right, that it is justice to hunt the Eem down everywhere they might find them. And they too have a lot to learn.
