hello all, creator of shapeheads here (me!)

sooo.. long hiatus, huh? I promise despite this long gap in the updates, SHAPEHEADS IS NOT CANCELLED.

This comic is really fun to work on, and has been a big learning step in my own writing and character design. the problem that lies in its development is not anything to do with the story, or the plot, or even the fanheads that I've been given to use. the problem is just in my own time management.

to be completely up front, I am working a job. full time, in fact! the end of the day leaves me too tired to get work of any kind done, but other times it can be a breeze and I'm just lazy or forgetful. it's a bad habit that I want to work out of, and actually attending to my passion projects seems like the only logical way to do so.

so what am I gonna do? I'm gonna keep working on this comic! updates may be random at the start, but I will probably have a consistent schedule for it once we get into later volumes.

speaking of such. I wanna take this time to talk about volume 1, or "DEAD" (funny title considering the state of this blog haha). I will finish the entirety of chapter 1 as well release any preboot versions of the volume, but the style of the comic after will be drastically different afterwards. I want to experiment with my works, and with shapeheads being as experimental as it is already I dont see not reason to do it more! not that big as everything else I said before, but yeah just expect a design change after volume 1. this blog will also undergo a change in its themeing as I made this blog in a rush and it could really be better lol

im finally getting back into this! now where do I even begin..?

SHAPEHEADS was inspired by alot of grunge/industrial themes and music, such as the Pixies, the Pillows, Destroy Boys, Nirvana, and The Garden. i want the comic to have a sorta run-down look.

The style of the comic itself came from various artists and ideas such as aimkid, Panty and Stocking, and FLCL. the story itself is completely original and has gone through many variations before deciding on something i like.

the original story didn't even include Uni and Enas, and focused on another pair of siblings who traveled the shapeword [also known as SHIFTER].

the aesthetic of SH is meant to be a mix of primarily American and Japanese culture, but concepts can vary from all over the world. later on you'll see what I mean by that ;)
