6/13/2018 So this happened.... Long story short, back in December when I was a work cops came in to try and arrest a man who had multiple warrants out for his arrest but he resisted by pulling out a large hunting knife on them before bolting from the restaurant. In simple terms I made sure everything was good with my employees before talking to the customers to get more information on what happened. In doing so I retrieved names and phone numbers to hand off to the cops once they returned. It wasn’t for another 3 hours after a stand off in the streets in -10 degree weather that the cops returned and I was able to give them the info they needed. About a month after this incident I received a letter thanking me for my actions. It also stated I demonstrated top notch leadership and calm in a crisis situation. Thinking nothing would come of it after this, mid April rolled around and I revived another letter. In this letter I was told that I would be getting awarded a citizens certificate of merit for my actions. So last night happened and now I have an award from LPD. Honestly, I never would have expected this. To me that night I was just doing my job, nothing out of the ordinary. Working at the downtown Cane’s for 3 years I’ve seen a lot of crazy things, this one being one of the crazier ones, so I never thought it would be more than a thanks for the help homie. So that’s my story! Also huge shout out to Will and Shaelynn for coming to the awards ceremony with me last night. ✌🏼

I love my city, and here’s why: 1. Lincoln may be small, but it’s Just big enough. 2. It’s where you can spend your Saturdays in the fall wearing red and being as annoying as possible and no one can judge. 3. It’s where you can go just outside of town to watch a beautiful sunset over the plains. (There is truly nothing like it) 4. It’s where you find little spots and hills where you can just spend some time overlooking the city and appreciating where you are at in life. 5. It’s where I have found my best friends, the ones I know will last a lifetime. 6. It’s the place I’ve learned to call home. 7. I may have just missed posting for best friends day but let me tell ya about these friends of mine. These guys have shown me what it’s like to have real friends. How friends should treat you and how I deserve to be treated. I owe the world to these guys and I am so forever grateful you guys have come into my life.
