Outdoor mural for Oppuravillam (trans. 'Reconciliation House').Â
3.5 x 2 m
The space functioned as a kind of informal community centre during the war, and has recently been refurbished. I joined a team of volunteers to help beautify the outer walls of the building. We were also joined by some schoolkids from the area, one of whom helped me by painting the stripes at the bottom of the mural. If you're traveling north on the A9, you can spot this about 10 minutes after exiting Vavuniya town.
Industry 4.0
Interior wall mural depicting a current trend of automation and data exchange in a manufacturing company. Recognizable icons relating to the practice have been worked into the mural, giving employees a way to remember, and practice them, in their process.
Medium: PVC pipe and wall paint
Size: 1.5 x 3 m
I experimented with some hand drawn animation, for my last project for 2016. I've printed out frames from a video I took a few days ago, traced and illustrated over them, and finally put them together and animated them on Photoshop.
My contribution to the #rtxproject mural here in Colombo. The brief was to feature a face of someone in the community and, as per the wishes of some of the people we spoke to here, combine it with something uplifting and inspiring. The kids I spoke to said they liked to draw, so I filled the space with paint brushes and bright colours. The road running through the entire mural symbolises the overall road trip. All the best to the other travellers on their new adventures!

I committed to creating one ink drawing/painting per day for the month of October, experimenting with different variations of my style, and I've come out of it feeling inspired to create more. Here are the pieces, unequally represented (because c'est la vie) in one image.
