A wise man once said, "The hard part about promoting your textures is that you can't just post the textures because then people have the textures already." I'm not sure who that was, but it feels like a deep and fundamental truth.

Completing my round of itch.io summer sale posts with the Rivets n Rust Texture Pack, currently 25% off. That's almost like getting one of the four colour variants included for free. Hmm, much to consider.

I make most of the demo screenshots for my texture sets by knocking out a quick non-playable map in NetRadiant and screenshot in Quake 3 because that's actually a pretty quick way of doing this kind of demo environment.

What if I was the sort of buffoon that would put their newest texture pack in itch's summer sale? It's 13% off which is a pretty cursed number, but does give you more than one whole buck off the usual. And you can still pay more than that if you happen to be smart and handsome.

This month's fancy new texture set, Doomed Dimension, can be grabbed from my itch page. They're great for fantasy both high and low, and equally good for disturbing technogothic settings.

Doomed Dimension texture pack is now released!

Retro style texture pack with just over 180 tiling textures, plus additional support images for masks and glows/emissive shader stages. It's both grim and dark, and some may say gothic, but you could certainly use it for lighter fantasy locations as well. Great for making all sorts of deep dungeons, creepy castles, sinister manses, cursed abbeys or alarming techno-fantasy deathmatch arenas.

Commercial use license included but fine for your free/hobby projects too of course.

Got up to about 140 files in the exports folder for this imminent texture set release right now. Started doing the preview sheets, although there are still a few colour-ways to finalise and save out.

Building a test level for screens, and finding possible areas where I can look to add a few more useful things. I went for a Quake vibe but there's not really any specific icons or symbols in this set to prevent it being used for other things. Heck there's even some sort of flower/clover shaped cut-outs on some gratings. It'll be good for all sorts of dungeons and castles and the like.

Aiming for release on Tuesday, as is tradition.

It's the end of the month and it'd be nice to round it out with a few more sales if you fancy some nice commercial-use textures for your projects! Rivets n Rust evokes 90s base maps, Downtown Dystopia's a bit more modern urban. Both packs include a commercial use license for game devs but you can just as easily use them for your Quake maps or what have you.
