A naive young secret for the new romantics

I feel like everything is going to shit. It feels like the whole world is falling apart. I can't organize my thoughts. My family back in America are openly transphobic, racist, and sexist. Several acquaintances I still (for some reason) have on Facebook too. Everything, everything, is so messed up and I'm having a hard time seeing the good in the world. I know we'll keep fighting, I know that we won't give up but I feel so sick. It's more than just about this ban, which in itself is enough, it's this hiding behind ""Christianity"" and calling it American. It's the hatred and fear of anything they don't understand. And it stretches beyond America. It's infecting Europe too, Sweden too. Injustice is everywhere and right now it's louder in my ears than the good. The prejudice, the violence, the ignorance. The well-being of this whole planet, of all of its people who aren't sitting on unfathomable sums of money, of the other creatures who have just as much of a right to this planet's health as we do but don't have a voice to defend it, is deteriorating. Please, I want to believe that love wins. I know that we are more than them. I need to believe this.

If only this weren't a mistake........
