I don't want anything else in the world...

Clary Fray – Clarissa Fairchild– hero of the shadow and mundane world alike walked out into the cold autumn night all by herself and faded away into the shell of who she was not just as a shadowhunter but as the mundane she was before. She saved the world and didn’t even get a “thank you”.  She picked herself back up, got back on her feet, pursued her art, and tried to make sense of the world she reentered and we didn’t get to see any of it. 

But thank god we know Underhill X Lorenzo is canon. 

Like, she didn’t have a wallet or purse on her afair so she probably had no ID, no keys, no money. She wouldn’t know where she was or have any idea how she’d gotten here. So, where’d she go? Home, probably, to find someone else lives there, and probably then learn that her mom - the only family she had prior to the Shadow World that she no longer remembers - is dead. (Or, would she even learn that her Mom is dead?  I doubt her death was reported to the coroner’s office or city records. Would she just think her Mom bailed?) 

She’d discover that months have passed in between her last memory and now. She’s no longer in school, her best friend is ‘dead’ according to his family (but I have issues with that as well cuz like… wouldn’t his mom want to visit his grave and there wouldn’t be one? No death certificate?). She probably went to the police station looking for Luke only to find out that he no longer works there, maybe even discover that he was charged with murder and now no one knows where the fuck he is.

So… what’d she do? Dot is probably gone. She has no ID, no money, no clothes, not even a coat, all of her friends and family are gone and she lives through this for an entire year because the Angels are petty bitches, not to mention losing MONTHS of her life. She’d essentially have zero resources and amnesia.

I get that it was probably intended to be a slight change on the book’s ending, and probably a ‘oh look pure love conquers all’ thing but in reality it was… kinda fucking garbage? It was “look we threw this young woman outside in the middle of New York in the winter without so much as a coat or phone, with no memory, presumably where no one comes along to assist her. Then just… skips to a year later with no explanation and an implied happy ending?
