Good at subverting expectations without coming off like pretentious lazy assholes with no writing skills. (Yes, I’m still bitter about GOT and The Magicians)

Smart and nice main male character who sometimes looses brain cells when it comes to pretty mermaid.

Mysterious Asshole characters who are shady.

Tends to make terrible judgement calls when he’s heartbroken.

Often trusts the wrong people.

Represses and denies his emotions in favour of literally ‘soldiering on’.

Lets it out in silent self-harm.

Makes a lot of assumptions without actually asking for opinions.
