it had been a long night, azriel was wearied , the thought of even attempting to lift his wings was an exhausting one and yet he found himself on top of the mountain range , readying for flight . his body might be fatigued but his mind was still working a mile a minute , as it too often did after a day spent extracting information . whether or not he wanted to , he needed to fly . it was in the air , wind roaring through his ears and silencing any thoughts , that he saw something off . he spread his wings wide , stilling himself in the air as his shadows came to wrap around him in a whisper . no , no that was impossible . it couldn't be . it took no more thought before he sliced downwards , landing gracefully in front of someone he thought had died a long , long time ago . hallucinations ? had he turned mad ? " impossible . " he breathed , dark orbs scanning over the woman in front of him , the one who made his heart feel like it was going to beat right out of his chest . " no ... no it can't be . " he reached out to touch her , falling to his knees when his hand collided with her arms , his shadows circling him . he moved his eyes upwards , the shock causing him to shake. astraea is alive ( @loststarlite )
