"I never claimed to be a "good" Person. You knew it the second you recruited me to your Party that I wasn't a good Person. I was very upfront about it. But Rhyelia WAS! She was as good as they come. Why are you mad that I tortured and killed her murderer? You loved her the same way I loved her"

It was at that moment that I couldn't argue with her. She was right. We both loved Rhyelia deeply. But Jahara was far more devastated when she died. Makes sense: she knew her longer than I did. I shouldn't have been surprised when she founded Rhyelia's murderer in a tavern earlier tonight and murdered him in cold blood.

"But still, you murdered another person in cold blood, without giving him a chance to defend himself."

"Rhyelia never got the chance to defend herself either!"

"But do you think this is what she would've wanted?!"

"How would you know, huh?!" Jahara screamed, tears rolling down her face. "You didn't know her like I did! You did not STARVE on the streets with her like I did! And you—!"

"Don't you dare suggest that I didn't love her like you did," I interrupted, tears streaming down my own face. And we just stood there for a while, angry with each other, but still Rhyelia's memory hanging over us like a guillotine. "And I don't want to lose you too because you murdered someone in an act of revenge."

Jahara remained silent, bringing her hand past the bars of her cell, reaching for mine and squeezing it gently. She was trembling.

"Do you blame me, though?" That, I didn't have an answer for. "He didn't deserve to live after what he did to her." I reached my own hand past the bars, cupping her face gently before pulling her into a gentle kiss.

"We're getting you out of here. I swear to it we are getting you out of here."

"Heh, don't take too long, okay? I've a fear of getting beheaded."

Garrick stood by as he listened in, his orcish features in a deep scowl. After joining this group, he knew they needed his protection. A friend is about to be killed for killing a criminal.

He wasn’t about to just stand by as this went on. So he went to look for Rhyleia’s murder scene. His hidden talents helping him get there, scaling the walls to look for where the killer’s home was.

There he caught sight of some guards and put himself without a trace as he drops down before them, appearing out of the shadows like a looming obelisk of green skin.

“Now… are you here to investigate Jahara’s case… or are you here to make sure a killer’s secret is hidden? Be honest now…” His brown eyes glow amber in the darkness, reaching for his axes.

“My hunt for the justice is only begun.”

I really think we should stop saying "kid-friendly" and start saying "ad-friendly". We shouldn't indulge these companies and their excuses anymore. I also think that continuing to pretend that this is about "protecting the children" pushes a lot of the blame onto kids and teens, who don't have the political power to push through any of this censorship legislature. Corporations and governments are to blame.
