Rn I’m working on a lot of things but found time for a quick line / sketch of my priest’s lovely mama some years before she decided the fel was a good thing to mess with.

Malachi - Retrogasm Art Entry

My take on Malachi from Castlevania, done for Retrogasm art competition

The brief was to pick a char/creature from a retro game and uprez it to current gen while still keeping faithful to the original design of the character.

Additionally thank you to everyone else who gave me feedback on the competition facebook group. I hope I`ve managed to apply as much as the feedback as possible in order to make a good submission

Info: 4k map for body and 2k map for accessories, around 90k triangles for body and 16k triangles for accessories. Sculpted in ZBrush and Textured almost entirely in Substance Painter. Retopology and UVs done in Maya and baked and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
