I'm kinda getting hit today by the feeling that this fandom is kind of like...idk. Over?

Like I know that fans are what keep the fandom alive, and fandoms can outlive their "organic" lifespans by decades, but to me it's difficult to feel like that's the case here when it's not about a show ending or a book series being over or whatever.

I really think dnf are more or less done with content. I do also think we'll still get very occasional streams from George or videos from Dream but it really doesn't seem like their hearts are in it anymore. It's not enough to sustain a fandom that's built off real people imo.

And yeah Sapnap is seemingly streaming more than he isn't, but most people aren't interested in valorant and other non Minecraft things so like... fandom wise, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Like most people (that I see, at least) are here for dream team things, and when was the last time we got that? George's birthday last year? Sure snf have been in a couple Dream videos since, but I don't really count that as purely dream team content.

It just sorta feels to me like they're all past that part of their lives and are letting the fandom and fans fizzle out on their own time now. And I never expected them to do content forever, that's unreasonable imo, but I had been thinking things would bounce back a bit since 2022 lmao. Jokes on me, I guess. Ever since I joined the fandom people have been complaining about a content drought and it's only gotten drier as time has gone on so like. I truly don't see them suddenly turning it all around and getting back to even semi consistent content after 4 years of not much of anything.

Also idkkkkkkk but it just seems like most of the time their hearts just.... aren't in it anymore. I get the feeling they're doing things out of obligation and I can't enjoy watching things if I don't think they enjoyed making them. And yeah that's a me thing, but it's really thrown a wrench into my enjoyment of the very little content we do get.

I know I've been yapping about this for months now but man :') It just kinda sucks. I don't even blame them if they do wanna quit cause I'm sure I would too if I'd been through even half of the shit they all have. They probably have other things they wanna do with their lives than sit around and deal with the few vocal fans they have left, which seem to be insufferable from what I've seen. Like I can't fault them at all for not wanting to deal with irrational 14 year olds on Twitter lmao.

It still just sucks tho. Like even when we do get a George stream or a Dream video now, it just doesn't seem to bring the fans to life the way it used to even size months ago. It used to be at least a day or two of people having fun but now it's barely anything at all. People are moving on and don't really care anymore. And I'm all for having multiple fandoms, I think that's the healthiest way to do fandom, but this doesn't feel like multiple fandoms anymore. It just feels like... other fandoms, you know?
