Often... we fail to recognize our lover’s needs because they aren’t the same as our own. We try to love them they way we need to be loved ourself and fill their needs with our own needs. This will only get us so far. It works until the mutual needs are filled and then what? We must listen to understand, we must challenge ourselves, our own beliefs, and be willing to be uncomfortable giving the kind of Love we aren’t used to giving or receiving. And just because all of your needs aren’t necessarily being fulfilled is no reason not to put in the effort to fill theirs. It’s growth and it’s challenging, but in the end it will also provide both of you the greatest of rewards...
