walked by the sailing club and saw all the little kids in their life jackets listening to the instructors. big wave of nostalgia moment, i want to be on a sailboat again :(

also sort of related to this because it made me think back to it, my grandfather spent a large part of his life sailing (although he’d long stopped by the time i was born) and at his funeral last year they read out a passage from his journal where he wrote that he didn’t care much for burial and that if he could choose how to go he’d like to disappear at sea. which 1) beautiful and iconic 2) i also just think it’s funny that they chose this passage for his burial

hey guysss so unfortunately the rumors are true and im leaving the narrative. Buttt the good news is my absence will create such a gaping hole in your lives that it will become a sort of presence itself, and so in a way it will kind of be like i never left! But i am. Leaving just to be clear.
