ok now I have questions about the zoo. What does it look like? Are the organic creatures separated by species, or are they grouped together by habitat, or does it depend? Are there any other "talking animals" like humans? Are there only organics in the zoo, or are there any other attractions like amusement rides, parks, maybe producing various organic luxury goods, and putting on performances like in aquariums? Do the gems study the organics? Is only Steven allowed in, or did he convince the other diamonds to open it to the public?
jeebers creepers I really need to write down my own thoughts on a diamond steven on tumbler man, I feel like I need a peer review.
As for the shape, imagine many human zoo's tied to eachother with hallways. Each zoo is separated by specie but there are a few smaller experimental zoo's that are inhabited by small groups of different species that live in similar conditions, but there are only like a couple since the probability of species lightyears away breathing the same air, inhabiting same gravity conditions, using the same senses are almost zero. A huge part of the zoo is dedicated to the study of the creature's planets resources and how they can be utilized to make better gems or new types of gems.
There are many species that developed communication, either speech or different kinds of "speakings" (visual, others i wont think hard enough to imagine, tapping) but the study of their languages isnt really considered important enough.
There is a very small museum dedicated to the exposion of these creatures to visiting gems, but besides that there are no other attractions in the zoo.
Even tho its a Zoo, its more of a giant research lab, and only a few gems are permitted to see a live inhabitant of the artificial habitats
The Diamonds didnt start as fans of this silly little project but when Steven showed how resources can be exploited not only but gem production but also for quality production, they started leaning more into it and taking Steven's project seriously
So now there are more types of gems, such as Moldavites, Labradorites, Ambers and others I havent designed yet... Each with its own function (I especially like the Moldavites)
