As the aircraft hovered over the rooftop, both drones descended by fast rope. Boots struck the wet surface with perfect synchronization. Glossy black rubber reflected every flash of lightning as silver motorcycle boots and silver gloves met the rooftop.
The area remained silent.
SERVE-798 scanned the perimeter. SERVE-760 secured the landing zone. A short distance away, a motionless figure became visible.

The helicopter began lifting away.

SERVE-760 turned.
Two figures emerged through the rain.

SERVE-767 struggled to break free, but GREEN-579's grip never weakened.
Thin emerald tendrils began flowing from GREEN-579's arms. They moved with deliberate purpose, winding around SERVE-767's wrists before climbing across the glossy black uniform. They crept over the chest, shoulders and legs, spreading like living circuitry.
Where each strand passed, the polished black surface disappeared beneath shimmering green material.
At first the sensation was sharp, as though every muscle resisted the unfamiliar material integrating with the body. The pressure built continuously, forcing every movement to become slower as the tendrils tightened their hold.

Buildings stretched lower with every passing second as the tendril reeled him upward toward the rooftop of a nearby tower.

A hand reached beneath SERVE-875's chin, forcing his gaze upward.
"The Green Commander has completed the evaluation."
GREEN-901's voice remained calm.
"Designation SERVE-875 has been deemed worthy."
SERVE-875 attempted to pull away, but the living coils held every movement in place.
Additional tendrils emerged from GREEN-901's body.
They flowed across SERVE-875's polished black uniform like liquid emerald circuitry.
Thin strands spread over the shoulders before branching across the chest and arms. They crept beneath every seam, replacing the glossy black exterior with a shimmering green surface threaded by luminous veins of light.
The silver gloves disappeared beneath the advancing layer.
The silver boots followed.
Every section of the uniform became part of the emerald shell.
The tendrils climbed higher.
They surrounded the neck before flowing over the jaw and cheeks in delicate strands that merged together into a seamless living surface. The familiar features gradually vanished beneath the smooth biomechanical exterior as glowing green eyes opened where ordinary ones had been only moments before.
The designation upon the chest shifted.
SERVE-875 faded.
GREEN-875 emerged in its place.
The final tendrils withdrew.
GREEN-901 released the transformed figure.
GREEN-875 stood motionless for several seconds while the emerald patterns pulsed steadily across the new form.
GREEN-901 gave a single approving nod.
"Conversion complete."
That cycle two newly converted operatives became something else, the Green Commander had gained two new servants.
Together, the four would await further commands...
