     Him standing next to her felt right. Why had they been apart for so long only to be so in love now? He always blamed himself for not being a good enough of a man. Perhaps it was the fates – or the gods – way of making sure that he was ready. He didn’t exactly have the chance to be ready; their child was coming whether or not either of them were ready, so they had no choice.

     Reaching out for him, she gave him arm a squeeze and shook her head. “Why do you worry?” Her other hand was still cradling her belly, rubbing her thumb against it. Looking to his eyes, she saw the worry. She saw the pain. Most importantly, she saw the love. Leaning into him, her lilac hues batted up to him and she smiled. “You don’t need to worry about me. Nothing will happen to me so long as you breath and I see the future.” Her tone was on the side of humorous and she couldn’t help it. Lya hadn’t gone through what Jorah had, but she just knew. Everything was going to be fine.

     “Have you thought any more about names?” Resting her head against his arm, she sighed and looked out to the ocean. “We can’t just call them ‘babe’ for the rest of their lives.”

why did he WORRY?  that was all he ever did.  worry about the past, the present, and the future, although the latter caused him fewer sleepless nights than it had before he had met her.  still, though, the doubts were there, and so was the FEAR. it was swallowing him whole.

“have i told you how i lost my first wife?” he asked her quietly, turning towards her to cup her chin in his hand, his other resting on the small of her back.  “she died in childbirth.  it feels like...” he sighed, tearing his gaze away from her own before giving her a smile that didn’t meet his eyes.  “never mind.”
