I’ve had the delightful honor of participating in @thtguyhedge’s Soul Eater Museum event (redrawing the manga volume covers) this year! This is the cover I chose myself because well… I love the B Team so much, and this cover is honestly one of my favorites. The artwork with and without the title included are below, along with some other small rambling about the piece! Hope you all enjoy my take on one of the Perfect Edition covers coming up soon too!
So, not only did I include the weapons’ human forms in the background, but you’ll also notice everybody looks a little different! The Pots look like actual kids! Ox has HAIR! These redesigns are mainly for my big Soul Eater Revised project, and I actually ended up finalizing the designs for Ox, Harvar, and Fire & Thunder for this piece (I did Kilik, Kim, and Jackie years ago)! I’m really happy with how they turned out, and excited to draw them more in the future!
I experimented a little bit both cover redraws I did, using a half-&-half lineless/colored lineart rendering style for this one! I thought it fit the energy this gang has and help draw attention to their colors. Much like the Death Child trio (Maka, Kid, BlackStar) all having black in their main outfits, I went with Ox, Kim, and Jackie all having green!
