It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. That whole "imagine your oc/si×canon ship as canon" is only appealing if you're white. Maybe there are Black shippers and Shippers of color who fantasize the idea of them being the ideal, popular ship but fandom by and large is supremely racist and only centered on whiteness. I am a fat, nonbinary Mexican, I would not be considered for anything if I was a fictional character. And I know that b/c the most popular ships with the characters I like are predominatly white or white passing.
