how to make female cas cc show up for males and vice versa
i’ve seen a couple people ask about this and a few more not seem to know you can do this, so here’s a tutorial. it is pretty quick and simple imo, i do this for almost every female hair i download.
please note this will not change the frame that the cc was made on - there may be clipping etc. because we are not editing the mesh and this isn’t a mesh conversion tutorial. it won’t break your cc and is easily reversible, but it might look a lil funny lol. you’ll just have to try it and see if you like it. in general, makeup, hairs, and piercings work the best with this trick.
most t.o.u.s allow you to do anything with their cc if it’s for personal use so you aren’t violating any terms by doing this.
1. open sims 4 studio & click “my cc”
this should bring you to your sims 4 mods folder.
2. click on the cc you want to change
since this is just for demonstration i’ll use a top i made. you can see i typed my name in the search bar, since i put it in the title of every file i make.
if you don’t know what the title of the file is (i recommend you do it after downloading cc so you know the file names of it), just click through your files and the cc will show up on the model in the middle of your screen. it’ll just be a little more painful and tedious to search for.
3. unrestrict & enable it
for female cc, male and masculine will usually be unchecked. to make it available for males, check those boxes.
for male cc, the female and feminine boxes will be unchecked, so check those boxes if that’s the case.
now scroll down to the very last section.
looky here. you might have to uncheck the “restrict opposite gender” and “restrict opposite frame” boxes. sometimes these are the creator’s choice and others it’s just the game’s default.
now your cc will also show up in cas for the opposite kinda sims, without you having to filter.
“allow for random” just means townies will spawn wearing this cc sometimes. you can check or uncheck it while you’re doing this, too, if you want. most creators turn it off, i think.
now click the big green save button and then “ok” on the pop up. since it’s already in your mods folder, you don’t have to do anything else or move the .package :).
you’re done. go give your male sims long luxurious hair that makes all the townies weep with jealousy.
