people always try to put mothers on some pedestal, as though they can do no wrong, and only fathers can ever be the abusive parent. 

my mom : why don’t you open up to me?

And when two thunderstorms fall for each other, They create a hurricane of chaos and havoc. And unless you’re one of the lucky ones, Growing up in the center of a hurricane ls inevitably going to leave you scarred. Bruised.

It took seven hundred mirrors to see that I am only a shared flesh of my parents to a certain degree, to see that I am my own person. I guess I really took it to heart when this mean man stuffed my mouth with lies about him knowing me better than I know myself. It's as if it's common for my knees to wobble in every step when I am not tethered to someone's waist. I was half a soul. My victories cannot be hanged on my own walls because my hands weren't the only ones bruised in the process. All that I am, all that I will ever be, is because someone is kind enough to grace my head with laurel wreaths. I saw the world as a fever dream plagued with pretty boxes to put yourself in. This is what it's like growing up with strings attached to your limbs, you think everybody is a puppet of who scares them.
