“I’m fine, Nolan. I promise. I’m just worried about you,” Persephone murmured as she caressed his cheek softly. “I know that what happened at the ball was... unexpected and I know you’ve been busy dealing with the damage but how have you been holding up? Do you need anything?”

Dallas had taken to her favorite lounge chair at the coffee shop, minding her own business as she kept to her laptop or phone, depending on who she was talking to on the devices. However, someone caught her attention as they walked through the door, her brow raising slightly. “Oh my god! There’s a spider on your shoulder!” She said in a surprised but also fake-scared tone, standing up to walk over to them. “Nah, not really. Just figured I’d break the ice somehow and make it less awkward to come and talk to you since I’ve been M.I.A for the past… I don’t even know how long. Had a job out of town that took me longer than I thought it would.” She grinned, patting the other on the shoulder. “How has everything been? Miss me while I was away? If you say no, just know that you’re getting a ton of ‘uncool’ points from me.”

“What, where?” Persephone shrieked and she immediately patted her shoulders, frantically trying to get off the spider that turned out to not have been there at all. She gave Dallas a withering glare, not liking being played like that, but Persephone knew that the girl in front of her was just that. A girl. Not even a woman yet, just a girl who still liked to joke around and used lingo like she was still stuck in high school. Normally, Persephone would feel very protective over a younger female but she still wasn’t a fan of being made a joke out of in such a public place. “Yeah, your jokes are definitely something I missed,” Persephone said in a sarcastic tone and though she was still slightly pissed at the spider dig, she knew that it would bear no benefits to her whatsoever to keep a grudge on somebody from the gang, especially a kid. “I don’t know if you’ve heard but we just had a shooting at a party so that’s been something everybody’s been talking about since it happened. And you? How are you?”

It was three in the afternoon when Finn awoke. Suddenly disoriented he looked around and remembered that he’d come to the library to do some reading. A figure was standing near him but his eyes were too blurry with sleep to see who. Sitting up and rubbing them he yawned. “Gosh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to take up the whole couch.”

Persephone was on one of her walks around the town and she realized that she hadn’t been to the library in a while, probably because the head librarian behind the desk was a shrewd hag who always insisted on shushing people up with a glare that Persephone had rolled her eyes at plenty of times already. “No, it’s quite alright, Finn. Don’t let me disturb your sleep at the public library.”

A small sigh escaped her lips as she finished putting the last photo she had taken up on the wall. With in the past two weeks she had been home, she had managed to buy a place for her studio, and get it done with in record time. Even despite everything that had gone on too. Before she could do anything else, she heard the door open. “We’re not open yet!” She called from the back of the place.

“I could buy this entire building with a snap of my fingers, just so you know,” Persephone teased the brunette as she walked into the place anyways. “So, everything’s looking good and shaping to be a pretty good place. I’m sure people would love to come in here and enjoy your masterpieces,” she murmured as she eyed the pictures on the wall. “Just a tip, though. Serve wine. People would love that.”

The mornings were typically quiet at the Brass Wolves headquarters, it being too early to operate any of the gang’s various business ventures. So the mornings were when Raymond typically found himself in the headquarters, set up at his corner desk where he could crunch numbers in peace. He was particularly thankful to have the old warehouse to himself today, as the numbers reported by some of the heads weren’t adding up properly; but his solitude was interrupted by footsteps echoing down the hallway. Raymond looked up as the figure stepped into the doorway, brow furrowed. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

Persephone usually didn’t hangout at the Brass Wolves’ headquarters without Nolan but ever since the attack, she found herself more prone to going there by herself, needing to be in the company of the people she already considered her extended family. She knew that her husband needed to clean up the mess with what happened at the ball, and she didn’t want to get in his way too much while he was working and though she did have her own gigs to do, the few times she did find herself with nothing to do, she usually roamed around the headquarters, checking on everybody there. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know anybody was here,” Persephone said before showing Raymond a smile. “I was just walking around. Are you working? Would you want me to go?”

“I know, I know. Boxes all over my house. I’m in the process of moving right now. Bought a house two months ago and it’s finally done being renovated.”

“I love you, but don’t expect me to help with this stuff. I hate unpacking and moving large things around. I’m sure Nolan can help you out, though. Do you want me to call him?”
