Fandom is YOU. And me and everyone. If we doodle stick figures for a show that ended 30 years ago we aren't "late" or "doing too little", we're playing dolls in our own time and having fun with works of art that mean a lot to us

Based off of what you know of Law, you find several creatures that seem to be what you're looking for. Two distant cultures have spirits with the almost same visual description that have appeared in records independently of any contact between said cultures.

Originating in Yakut folklore, Kydaana reportedly brings a blizzard of fire wherever it appears, its own form made of fog and mist with golden eyes. It is known to decimate villages and eat the minds of geniuses when they win games it challenges them to. Very rarely does it grant mercy to its opponents. Others, however, have reported it performing miracles and healing the sick upon its loss.

In Iran, it is known as a cautionary tale and commonly seen in university libraries. Aman, the Persian counterpart of Kydaana, has a more clearly defined origin. Aman Brant was an infamous serial killer in the Seljuk Empire, a man that desperately sought an imaginary cure to his terminal illness within other people's bodies. That real historical figure has been mythologized into a benign-to-malevolent spirit that haunts hospitals, libraries, schools and mortuaries. It's reportedly been seen performing autopsies, treating patients while posing as a doctor, researching at the library, and helping medical students study.

Additionally, there is a similar spirit to Kydaana in Germany known as Kaltfeuer that is written of in Roman records as being a creature that froze over several villages in a firestorm. There is one singular instance of a creature in Tibet being summoned for an impossible medical cure. Ngawang was said to have a body of glittering fog, golden eyes and sigils containing its body.

Based off of what you know of Drake, you find one or two creatures that seem to be what you're looking for. However, not much is known about the Turkish mythological creature named Akif. Some sources claim it's one of the Cin, a shapeshifter, but one that can only steal the form of its victims. Others claim it can shapeshift into the form of a massive beast unheard of in Turkish folktales or mythos. Some call it Sabriye when it's connected to benign events such as appearing in old battlefield sites or helping amateur reptile enthusiasts identify species.

Occult blogs claim Akif is responsible for whispering in the ears of generals, tyrants and emperors, countless wars and battles waged to feed it and sow havoc and instability. Those conspiracies are largely dismissed by folklorists and anthropologists.

It is! I never made anything of it, bc it was too hard to get timelines and such to work, but the premise is Usopp somehow accidentally dialing Roci’s snail and talking to Law, and it becomes this thing Law clings to because the stories distract him from the pain. But he doesn’t know who the boy is and he can’t contact him after Minion. So Usopp on the other end thinks his friend died of his illness, and to cope, made up a story about him being miraculously saved and going on to be the best doctor in the world, and him telling this story to Chopper is how Law eventually finds out who the boy on the snail phone was. Here’s a snippet:

He still thought, sometimes, of the boy who’d made friends with him back then. The voice over the denden, who told him fantastical stories and took him away from his failing body and aching heart for just a while.

So, ‘Dellinger after Dressrosa’ is in the Heart’s Blade series, where he goes with Rosie during the battle and joins Ideo’s pirate crew at the end of the arc. He’s a better person in a better place than canon, but he’s still got a lot to grow out of. Here’s a snippet:

“Is it bad to miss them? ‘Cause I do. Giolla was like my mom- she sang me to sleep, and fed me, and taught me how to walk in heels. She still has scars from where she’d let me teethe on her thumb as a baby. And Gladius was always kinda grumpy, but he wasn’t mean to me- he’d play with me when I was sad, and he hid me when- when Joker was angry. But… none of them- none of <i>us</i>- cared about the people of Dressrosa, what we put them through. The hell the people lived in. We were all horrible people, we were only nice to each other. And it felt justified, ‘cause the world had been horrible to all of the Family. They took me in ‘cause no orphanage would take in a Fishman baby.” He looked uncertain, “At least, that’s what Giolla said, I dunno if I can trust that now.”

“And they’re in prison now. I can’t help but feel I should be, too.”

And ‘Deaged Supernova’ is exactly what it says on the tin- all the supernova (with one glaring exception) wake up at a particular age, and the culprit isn’t what they think. Here’s a snippet:

Drake shook his head, “It wasn’t Bonney.” “What do you mean? Of course it was Bonney- she’s the only Supernova not here, and her power is age manipulation.”

But Drake was adamant, “Bonney isn’t here because she hasn’t been born yet.” Capone and Urouge both froze, and the former cursed, “Fuck, you don’t mean-“ “In our time, she’s twelve years old.” “How do you know that?” Drake huffed mirthlessly, “Would you believe me if I said I babysat her once?”
