Sorry I couldn’t choose the funniest possibility so fill in the blank to help me finish the post.

My dad actually runs an after school minecraft club at the school he teaches at, so he had a little bit of knowledge going in, although admittedly a lot less than I thought he would have, considering he watches kids play this game once a week. Like three hours into the session he died from falling for the third time and we finally tell him the crouching trick. He’s absolutely peeved we didn’t think to tell him sooner, but he was even more peeved ten minutes later when he finally says “I wish there was a way to run”. Me and my brother just looked at each other and started dying laughing, it was great. Also this idiot was mining gold with a wooden pickaxe.

My mom came in completely blind, she never plays video games other than animal crossing but I just knew this could be the next cozy game addiction for her and I was absolutely right. She loved it. We were working on peaceful so it wasn’t an easy relaxed pace to get them acquainted with the game.

Now, my dad struggles with staying up late. Usually he’s up at 6 and in bed by 8. We started playing around 7 and I shit you not we all played until 1 am. One. In. The. Morning. Everyone was having such a great time, I’m genuinely upset I didn’t think to bring them all together like this sooner. We’re a big board game and DnD family but often struggle to pick a game everyone wants to play or make it through a full DnD session without someone getting board and our attentions slowly drifting. But with minecraft we all just sat at the table together, yes looking at screens, but also talking, laughing, teaching, learning, problem solving, and having what I could already tell an hour in was an absolute core memory in the making.
