honestly the idea that ghost would fight price over anything is insane, but more specifically that ghost would be against killing shepherd?? he demanded a tactical strike on Graves TO HIS FACE. youre telling me ghost draws the line at extrajudicialy murdering a general he already dislikes? ridiculous
I laid in the comfortable silk mattress, eyes glued to the ceiling as I thought to myself. How the hell did I end up here?
I thought I'd finally wake up to my own world when I passed out, but no, I found myself in my own private room that Rauru arranged for me for my stay and Zelda even visited to check up on me earlier
When I said I'll be a hero, I didn't mean it literally!!
I huffed and sat up, looking around the room with curiosity. Soft light filtered through tall, arched windows draped in pale fabric that swayed gently with the breeze
The bed beneath me was far too large, layered with thick blankets and finely woven sheets that felt almost too nice to touch, like I’d somehow stumbled into a place meant for someone far more important
The walls were carved from smooth pale stone, etched with faint, intricate patterns that caught the light in subtle ways. Gold accents traced along the edges of pillars and doorframes, not gaudy, but deliberate, every detail placed with purpose
Huge open windows and a nice balcony that overlooked the vast lands of Hyrule. I was in a place that isn't supposed to exist. This was a fairytale for god's sake
I sighed and slumped back down to my bed. The soft rustle of fabric, the whisper of wind, and somewhere far outside, the faint chirping of birds. Everything felt far too real to be a dream and I realized it
What was I going to do now?
That 10 foot something man was my enemy and it's my purpose to help the heroes defeat him due to a stupid wish. How am I going to be beating all that?? I'll be chewed up like gum then thrown onto the floor, waiting for the next shoe to trample me over
He was a master swordsman, a skilled dark magic user, King of the Gerudo, and soon the master of the secret stone. I was nowhere near his level!
My hand instinctively touched the secret stone that dangled above my chest. Queen Sonia was kind enough to make me a necklace for it so I just don't hold it everywhere I go
I know this stone can amplify the innate power of the bearer, making their existing abilities significantly stronger rather than granting new ones. But I'm not a magic user
I've never even used magic in my whole 26 years of living and they expect me to accept this kind of responsibility like I was training for it? No, I'm lost
I sighed, closing my eyes and burying myself further into the blankets. Grandma, what would you do if you were here? I hope you're doing well back there at the real world, I really wish you are
Then I stilled, every nerve in my body froze
Wish
I glanced down at the stone, looking at it with wonder. I held this as tight as I can when I made a wish back then just as I was about to die. Maybe if I wished hard enough, it'll make me go back to my old world?
Was this some kind of alternate genie where you can wish whatever you need and it'll grant you that possibility? It won't hurt to try...
I clasped the item tightly with both hands, closing my eyes as I curled in on myself "I wish..." I took a deep breath, continuing my long awaited end, I was going to go home. I'll make sure of it
"I wish-"
BOOM
The sudden sound jolted me up, making me sit up in bed as the pounding of my heart echoed in my ears. What was that!?
I hopped out of bed, running outside of my room barefoot and meeting Zelda in the hallway "Zel, what's happening?"
Her calm expression a stark contrast to my panicked state "No need to be alarmed. The guards are merely testing our new prototype, we're preparing as much as we can"
Prototype? Preparing? The soon awaited battle loomed over me and I couldn't help but feel restless. I let out a soft sigh and nodded "I see, it seems my worries are misplaced..."
Curiosity crept in despite myself as I stepped toward the massive open windows, peering down into the castle grounds below
Several soldiers and attendants hurried across the training fields while enormous stone constructs moved among them. Towering figures carved from pale rock and glowing faintly with green lines of light
"I'm guessing that magic is used to make those rocks move?" I asked, turning to her and she nodded
"In a sense, yes. The constructs are powered through Zonai energy, an ancient force left behind by Rauru’s people. It allows machinery, weapons, and other devices to function without direct human effort"
I listened attentively, eyes fixed on her as she explained with animated gestures "I see. I don't know much about magic here, I hope you're able to teach me more soon"
I gave her a friendly smile and she mirrored mine "Of course, I'd love to share more! What kind of constructs do you have up in the sky, Y/N?"
My eyebrows shot up. Constructs? Sky? Right, I forgot that the stone made me fall from the sky, it's only natural that she thinks that I'm from a different world, even though I am
"Well..." I paused, looking for the right words so I don't say anything wrong. I wouldn't want her to think that I'm from reality and their world is a tale told to children to go to sleep "Our world is a little different"
She slightly tilted her head, eager to learn more "Different? How vast of a difference is it?"
"So, you guys use magic to power these 'constructs', right? In my world, there's a term called electricity" I explained then continued "Electricity is another form of magic for us"
"Electricity?"
"Yes, kind of like, lightning but smaller and more controlled" That summarization instantly caught her interest and she leaned forward
"Controlled? And everyone uses it?" her eyes sparkled "Doesn't that make everyone the sage of lightning?"
I chuckled and shook my head "Not exactly. But magic in our world is electricity. People can't live without it and you need it to create more advanced mechanics"
She nodded slowly, fascination still lingering in her expression "I see… so rather than being born with an affinity for such power, your people learned to harness it through knowledge and innovation"
Her gaze drifted toward the courtyard below, where another construct clumsily marched into a training dummy
"To think an entire world functions through a force akin to lightning" she murmured "That level of advancement must have taken generations to achieve"
She looked back at me then, eyes bright with curiosity "and these mechanics you speak of, do they truly make life easier for your people?"
I opened my mouth to answer, only for another explosion to erupt outside. Zelda sighed softly "Though perhaps we should first ensure ours do not accidentally destroy the courtyard"
I followed her gaze to the courtyard then furrowed my brows at the constantly falling construct "They seem... unstable"
"The constructs themselves are functioning as intended" she explained "The difficulty lies within the energy flow. Too much power causes them to lose control, while too little renders them immobile"
Below us, several guards scrambled out of the way as another construct abruptly spun in place. I slightly winced at the sight
"Will these really help us defeat Ganondorf?" I looked back at her "He's a being of immense power once he grabs hold of the secret stones"
"That's why we plan to prevent him from acquiring one" her gaze hardened, still looking out the window "We won't repeat the same mistake twice"
"Twice?"
She froze, as if realizing her slip up "Oh, nothing. It's just that Ganondorf almost grabbed hold of the secret stone before due to our carelessness" she explained but something inside me tugged to second guess
Either way, I'm not here to wonder what she and Rauru are up to. My only goal here is to defeat Ganondorf and find a way to go back to my world. It seems I've already accepted this responsibility
"Alright. Now that we're talking, how about a few tour around the castle?" I asked, hoping to gather as much information as I need her, that includes the blueprint of this place
"Of course, come, I'll show you the wonders of Hyrule castle" She extended her hand and I accepted, both of us strolling, talking, and just exploring every inch of the vast place and I was in awe with every room
We wandered through the vast halls of the castle, Zelda eagerly guiding me from one grand chamber to another while explaining bits and pieces of Hyrule’s history along the way and I learned quite a few things
like how the Zonai once descended from the heavens, how the Secret Stones amplified the natural abilities of their bearers, and how Hyrule itself had only recently begun uniting the many peoples scattered across the land
Even though I already knew them, it was fun seeing her explain with such energy
Servants and guards moved respectfully through the halls, bowing their heads whenever Zelda passed, while distant music occasionally drifted from somewhere unseen within the enormous structure
And everywhere I looked, sunlight poured through impossibly tall windows, bathing the castle in warm gold as though the entire place had been built to worship the sky itself
She spoke with such genuine admiration for Hyrule that it became difficult not to listen. Every hallway seemed tied to some story, every statue connected to a ruler, a sage, or a battle long past
Every word was captivating
"Sorry, am I rambling too much?" she asked with worry etched in her tone and I merely shook my head
"No no, if anything, continue" she seemed to relaxed with my words and her smile softened "I don't mind learning a lot of things about Hyrule castle and it's history"
She nodded in understanding "Thank you for giving me such attentive attention. It's been a while since I felt so at ease. I guess it comes when you're dealing with someone like Ganondorf"
"No, I understand" We both stopped at a secluded alcove "Handling a being like him... It's not an easy task, It's scary even"
her gaze softened and she reached out to lay a handle hand on my arm "We're sorry for pulling you into this mess. It's just that Rauru believes that you can be our key in winning"
I let out forced chuckle and shook my head "Me? What can someone like me do...?"
My gaze lowered, my mind flashing with highlights of my life. I was a push over, a nobody in the eyes of others. It would've been good if my parents didn't fall into debt, we were happy once...
I was just someone lucky—or unlucky—enough to migrate into a world like this. If my grandma gave the stone to someone stronger, someone more determined, someone more...
Brave
"You're someone who can help, Y/N" she spoke, her words slowly being registered into my mind as I looked up into the gentle hue of green of her eyes "You wouldn't be here without reason. Even if the universe doesn't give you an answer, always find a way to find one"
"That's easier said than done" Either way, I forced a smile. Not wanting to gloom the mood with my self insulting words, I wouldn't want to burden her with my own problems
"Other than that, I don't know how to use magic. Perhaps you can teach me one day?"
Her eyes lit up and her smile returned "Of course! You can learn alongside me under Rauru's guidance. Wait, stay right here, I'll call him!"
She happily turned her heel and left to go fetch Rauru so I can begin to wield my magic. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. How would I even begin?
I leaned against the stone wall, arms crossed, and my mind somewhere far from here. How do I even start to make magic? Do I have to undergo some kind of mana training like those anime shows or what?
Well, I have used the secret stone before and it led me here. Do I have to close my eyes, hold it tight, and wish as if it's my last? I don't know, I don't know anything about magic
I sighed, feeling conflicted. What if Rauru realizes that I'm not cut out for this? What if I was just a fluke?
I was so in depth with my doubts and fears that I didn't even realize the footsteps that approached. And from the unease that suddenly shimmered in my gut, my instincts told me that it's neither Rauru and Zelda
"Y/N, was it?"
My shoulders tensed, everything inside me told me not to lift my head and stare at the large figure that shadowed over my form, engulfing me whole with the darkness that he easily harnessed
But I was a stupid fuck and slowly looked up, my head having to reel back a little just so I can meet his eyes and nothing in those orbs was filled with the right intentions. Was he going to kill me?
His gaze darted to the secret stone resting above my chest and I instinctively covered it with my hand. I slowly "Y-yes. I'm Y/N L/N. You must be Ganondorf Dragmire?"
Of course he was, you stupid
Oh my gosh, I'm so bad at this. My hands felt clammy, my breathing was shallow, and my hand that held the stone trembled. His lifted his gaze and stared at me a little longer before responding
"You're... Different" A slow smile appeared on his face and I swear I could feel the doom that awaited me. The demise of my fate
Either way, I held fast. forcing my knees to not fold in half and took a deep breath to control my breathing. I forced a smile, looking up at him with mock confidence "Different? Different how? Perhaps you haven't seen someone as charming as me?"
Y/N!!! I said act controlled. I already made the mistake and now he stared at me with confusion and I don't know if I liked that
"Perhaps..." He mused, taking a measured step closer "or perhaps I simply have little experience with women bold enough to jest in the presence of a king"
My smile twitched when he took a step forward, and forward, and forward until I could breathe him in. He smelt like sand-warmed amber, smoke, and the lingering scent of ruin that seemed to tell me a sign
Oh no
Oh no
Why is he getting closer!?
"Though, I admit the confidence is… refreshing"
Heat crawled up my neck so quickly I thought I might actually burst into flames right there in the hallway. Y/N, congratulations. You survived getting thrown into another universe only to immediately flirt with the Demon King
Outstanding work
I forced out an awkward laugh and straightened slightly, trying desperately to salvage whatever dignity I had left "Well, confidence is important where I’m from"
"Is it?" His brow lifted faintly "Then your world must produce very interesting people"
You have no idea
"Come to think of it, reports said that you feel from the sky?" He slightly leaned down to inspect me closer "Are you also a Zonai? You don't appear like one though..."
"Uhm, no?" I squeaked out, uncomfortable by his sudden closeness. All confidence that I had earlier left my body as soon as he braced his hand on the wall, his eyes squinting as if trying to dig out whatever information that he needed
"You're afraid of me, are you not?"
My brows shot up and I quickly shook my head "What? No! absolutely not!"
I'm a fucking liar
Every nerve ending was trying to force me to run, to get away lest I turn to dust with just a single punch of his hand. My eyes darted to his arm that was braced on the wall, trailing up to his bulging biceps then the curve of his pecs
"You are either an exceptional actress" he murmured, almost to himself "or the strangest woman I have ever encountered"
"I prefer mysterious" My eyes shot back up, meeting his fierce look
"Mysterious people are usually intelligent enough to avoid someone like me"
I frowned, was he telling me that I'm stupid? "Excuse you, I graduated top of my class! I may not look like it but I'm a hardworking smart person"
"Is that so?" he mused, crimson eyes narrowing slightly as he tilted his head, looking at me with a confusing mix of emotions but I could tell that he enjoyed playing with me "Then perhaps your intelligence is merely… selective?"
"Hey!"
Another amused breath escaped him "Most would sooner flee than continue arguing"
Something glinted in his eyes and my breath hitched when his free hand came up and brushed against the side of my throat. His eyes now fully focused on the shining stone on my chest
He looked like he was about to choke me. Wrong phrasing, he will choke me
I tensed, my muscles locking in place when his large hand covered my neck
"There it is" he murmured, voice low and smooth "The fear you insist does not exist"
My pulse hammered violently beneath his palm" You attempt to hide it through wit and noise yet your body betrays you far more honestly"
He let out a low chuckle and his thumb deliberately brushed against the stone "You should be careful, little wanderer. Pushing my buttons might leave you staring at the edge of my blade"
I swallowed hard and forced my voice to remain steady "Then it’s a good thing I’ve survived worse than sharp words and scary men"
One of Ganondorf’s brows lifted slightly
Wrong answer?
He looked intrigued again "Have you now?" thumb still resting against the stone" You speak as though you have stood before monsters before"
Technically, yes. Through a screen. With snacks.....
But despite Ganondorf's terrifying aura, nothing was more scarier than someone like my brother
Yes, the thought of facing the literal demon king was scary but the thought of hurting someone that was family somehow was worse. I grew up with my brother, he took care of me when our parents didn't
And yet I lost him to addiction
For the past 6 years, he wasn't my brother. He was someone who threatened and will not be afraid to hurt me.
It was strange really. To be scared of a regular human than the literal demon king
And yet the thought of being hurt by someone you used to trust, someone you used to be vulnerable with. It was much scarier than facing death from a monster
I steeled myself, firmly planting my feet to the ground despite my heart pounding out of my chest "I'm afraid of you, yes, I'm not afraid to admit it. But you're lesser than the monsters I've faced"
His brows drew together, anger flickering across his face before something darker began settling beneath it
Wounded pride
The air around him seemed to grow heavier, the warmth within the corridor turning suffocating beneath the sheer force of his presence. His eyes drilled onto me with an intensity that rooted me in place
"You stand before me" he said slowly, voice dangerously calm "knowing what I am… and still speak as though I should pale in comparison to creatures from your world?"
Gold ornaments along his form glinted sharply beneath the sunlight as though even the room itself had tensed alongside him
He threw his head back and let out a loud barking laugh "Is that so?" the sound deep and resounding in his chest as he looked down at me "Such blatant disrespect for a king"
He stilled when we heard footprints. My eyes widened and I hurriedly ran to Rauru's side when they showed up "King Rauru!"
Rauru frowned when he noticed that Ganondorf was present "Pray tell, why do I find you lingering around my guest more often, hm?"
Ganondorf’s eyes lingered on me for a fraction longer. Measuring, weighing. Before he slowly exhaled and relaxed his stance, posture shifting into something far more controlled
"Your Majesty" he began at last, voice smooth and measured "you misjudge my intent"
A faint, almost cordial smile touched his lips, carefully placed, like armor rather than sincerity "I merely found myself… intrigued by your guest’s presence. It is not often one encounters someone so unusual within these halls"
His gaze flicked briefly toward me again before returning to Rauru "I assure you, I bear no hostility. I am only observing, nothing more"
The words were polished. Controlled. Almost believable. But the air between them said otherwise
"Isn't that right, Y/N?" I blinked when he mentioned my name. Fuck, it seriously cannot get worse than this. I sighed and hesitantly nodded
"Yes, we were merely..." My gaze flickered to the satisfied smile on Ganondorf's face before it flicked to Rauru "... Talking"
"Zelda, escort Y/N away from here. I demand privacy as I speak to the Gerudo King"
She nodded and rushed beside me with a worried look "Come on, Let's get you far away from him" she held my arm but I continued to hesitated, looking back at Ganondorf despite my body telling me not to
He looked back to me and his smile widened, slightly tilting his head then mouthing the words
I’ve been doing a lot of male anatomy studies and this was drawn before that. But I fixed it up a skosh to post because while I’m drowning in technical studies, I have so many fun ideas taking up my brain right now I couldn’t wait.
Lore incoming—
I have developed four separate AU’s for Ganondorf, each correlating with one of his 3D Zelda incarnations. The idea being what does someone with his core traits become in a world with no/almost no magic?
This one is Wind Waker Ganon as a chef/restaurant owner, perhaps the fluffiest and coziest of the AU’s. But it fit so well in my mind.
Ganon has a troubled past with unscrupulous employment, along with a history of heavyweight boxing; he was good at what he did, unquestionably, but it wore on him. Always another job, always another opponent, more money he could put away, always a reason to look over his shoulder. An endless, pointless endeavor just because he was good at it.
Something he always genuinely enjoyed, however, was cooking, and he never stopped honing that craft along with his other skills. Eventually, something happened that flipped a switch inside of him, and he disappeared to start a new life overseas and learning from culinary masters.
Now, he has established a highly rated restaurant on a well-visited island. As the owner he has to be present for plenty of front of house responsibilities, but he’s still very involved in all aspects— especially the menu. The kitchen is his happy place.
And while he may be somewhat terrifying in stature and skill to his employees, there is an earned admiration and respect. He accepts nothing but excellence from his staff and if anyone falls short of that he will be right there to push them into it (or kick them the fuck out, if they don’t possess the right attitude.)
If you’ve worked in restaurants you understand there is a specific breed of chefs that Ganondorf fits in perfectly with.
Fire in their blood, smoke fuming out of their nostrils, and a resilient will that seems to push forward out of spite for the very idea they should work less than 12 hours a day. Does he drink and smoke? Yes. But not as much as an ordinary chef might need to survive. His is a well-earned respite. And COULD he drink enough caffeine to kill three regular men daily? Yes, but his love for the fruition of his dream is more than enough.
He’s strong in spirit, refined in age and experience, as formidable with his fists as he is with a Wüsthof, and perhaps softened by finally realizing a dream that seemed out of reach for so long. He fought for many years and worked so hard for something that ultimately ended up to be meaningless, but now— now he has something that matters. His own version of peace.
And woe is the old opponent or past employer that might think to scuff up the doorstep of his motherfucking kitchen.

Ganondorf continued his course without hesitation and approached. The sound of his footsteps echoed softly throughout the corridor and she lifted her head to stare at the nearing figure
The moment their eyes met, she immediately froze. Silence stretched between them for one brief moment then to his surprise, she turned and fled
Like actually fled. Turned her heel and ran as if she just witnessed him kill someone
"What in the-"
"Leave me be!!" she yelled, her voice echoing on the vast hallways of the castle and he stood there with a confused scowl etched on his face
How dare she?
He let her drink his finest wine, tolerated her nonsense, and even let her the privilege to lay on his bed yet she ran as if he had wronged her? Utterly absurd that woman is!
"What is her problem?" He angrily stomped towards his guards, demanding explanation for her sudden retreat "I ordered you both to care for the woman and now she flees from me as if I hold sickness"
The women tensed, trying to come up with an explanation for her reaction at seeing him but they couldn't bring something up that would explain it "L-Lord Ganondorf, Lady Y/N woke up perfectly fine, we do not hold knowledge as to why she retreats from you"
"Excuses!" He yelled, throwing his hands in the air in disbelief "She was perfectly fine sleeping next to me and now she acts like this?"
His guards immediately lowered their head and silenced filled the air around them
Had he said something wrong?
Absolutely not
Had he unintentionally threatened her?
Not beyond the usual amount...
So what in Din’s blazing name was wrong with the woman?
