``-> I'm making this on whims only. Xu Rongyuan kinda gets called "A-Niang". Not really toxic except for a few, still experimenting with Mu Lingye's character and his mommy issues. No beta we die like Mu Lingye's birds. I defintely forgot a few points to the plot.
Soft orange lights peaks through the curtains of the Crown Prince's bed. Sanbao watching every move of the Physician.
"The Royal Highness's fever has lowered for now, I shall prescribe a medicines for you serve him." Lowering his eyes, Xu Rongyuan stood up from the chair provided. How did he even get here? He suddenly got summoned. He, a new physician, summoned to assist the precious Crown Prince.
Jiusi tried all his might to stop his master from going. Alas, Xu Rongyuan would be punished for not assisting Mu Lingye's fever and sudden collapse. The last time he even saw the man, he was insulted and mocked for zero reasons. He thanked the heavens for not considering to make him a part of the Crown Prince's staff.
"A-Niang..." Mu Lingye slowly awakened, his sharp eyes immediately noticing a figure with long hair that is covering light blue robes, talking to Sanbao. It's a bit a blur.., he can't quite distinguish what the two are talking about.
His last memories are him blacking out suddenly after getting dressed. But more annoyingly, Why is that guy here? Just sensing the motion of his simple blue robes annoyed Mu Lingye.
Truthfully, Mu Lingye sort of forgotten Xu Rongyuan—the new physician he met how long ago. Something stuck with him. Was it his eyes, His words and demeanor...He can't describe it. Still, that doesn't really explain who brought this person here. Shouldn't he get the most skilled physician? What's with this low ranked being here? Did he touch him?
Glancing back, Xu Rongyuan widened his eyes. Walked towards the bed whilst moving the curtains away from view, "Your Royal Highness, are you feeling better?" A smile plastered on his lips.
Mu Lingye stared back.
Even with just him staring back at Xu Rongyuan; it makes the physician's heart beat run faster. He'd already experienced beforehand how much power the Crown Prince's holds within the palace, the Emperor's favorite other than Jingxue.
"Mm."
Oh. Oh wow. After Xu Rongyuan painstakingly hurried to the arrogant's palace, guards following him like crazy, and a eunuch watching his every move, he felt like his head was about to be chopped off any second, this was his patient's response.
"Does your Royal Highness feel any discomfort? I have already prescribe—"
Mu Lingye frowned, "No need. Leave."
Ah... I have heard the Crown Prince relying on a sachet given to him by his Majesty's concubine... Xu Rongyuan froze for a moment, I see. Shi Qiuci... you were the one who gave it.
"Then I shall take my leave, I will examine your progress everyday, your Royal Highness."
Xu Rongyuan doesn't have a choice in the decision, he is required to until the one laying in bed feels better since he is the one who took care and prescribed the medicine. Essentially, they want me to take the blame. A scapegoat for the higher ups and those around.
He grabbed his supplies, turning around. Sneaking a look on the interiors; it's spacious, filled to the brim with elaborate gifts—guessing they are from those sucking up—with few paintings draped aling the walls of bird creatures, from mythology to your daily birds. Xu Rongyuan made note of how most looked untouched.
Walking step by step towards the door, Xu Rongyuan also makes note of the Crown Prince's eunuch, how long has he been on the man's side? Whatever, better not be caught up in the Crown Prince's affairs, else Xu Rongyuan's life will change drastically.
One, Obey the prince's orders. Two, never lick his boots. Not that Xu Rongyuan wants to get close to him. Three, never mention the late Empress. All of these seems easy enough, Xu Rongyuan blends right into the background. Usually. Except for this time of him actually serving the Crown Prince.
This will go smoothly, right?
Three days in, Xu Rongyuan really wished he'd accept Cheng Henian's offer. It was supposed to be the last day he examines Mu Lingye's condition before he resumes back to his daily life. He endured the snickering comments, he didn't take the insults jabbing his dignity to heart. He pushed through with smiles and staying profesional.
So why is he in this position?!
"Y.. Your Royal Highness..?"
The arms around his waist tightened, like a snake coiling around it's prey. His blood runs cold, yet his neck is hot from the prince's breath, lips pressing against the back of his nape. Breathing in the sweat dripping from how nervous Xu Rongyuan is.
The last time someone got caught in this position, what happened to them? And to Xu Rongyuan's knowledge, The Crown Prince isn't a cutsleeve.
Hisses of pain left the physician's lips.
"Learn to close your lips together." Mu Lingye gruffed, "I had thought a your lowly self had said that this prince needs rest? Are you unwilling to assist a scary prince like me?"
Xu Rongyuan gasps, "N.. No.., Your Royal Highness." he really should have stayed in the crescent house. Yesterday this bastard's already in a good shape, but Sanbao still worried. How could Xu Rongyuan reject a worried servant. And now Xu Rongyuan's the only one to pay such decision, his neck hurts with the way the Crown Prince is grabbing it. Tilted his head to the side; letting the prince's high nose nuzzle into it.
Sanbao, where are you when I need you to stay?! Even though Xu Rongyuan knows the Eunuch can do little to nothing, but atleast Mu Lingye would do much less and restrain himself, right?
From the short days he check up on his royal highness, the mood definitely change spontaneously. One second being 'gentle' as he could, the next second killing someone off. Most of what he's seen and heard are the latter, which is... quite concerning.
Mu Lingye mumbles an insult Xu Rongyuan couldn't really hear, before closing his lids once more, the hold of his wrapped hands pressing on his physician weakened.
That was fast.
Xu Rongyuan recalls Mu Lingye waking up immediately as he hears Xu Rongyuan's or anyone else's footsteps. What's the change?
An hour of looking off in the distance passes by. The safe haven of the door shining so brightly, as if urging him to leave the hold of such prince.
But.. if the Crown Prince wakes up...
He moved his head down, his pupils fixated on the man's settled face on his nape, chest rising up and down slowly against the back of Xu Rongyuan. He looked peaceful in this position. That furrowed brows of his relaxed for once.
"Leaving should be fine now."
This reminds Xu Rongyuan of childrens sticking close to their mothers while sleeping. They hate being left alone, hugging their mothers closely—because all they know is their mother's loving gaze and protection. Sleeping is especially scary for them, isn't it? The darkness would be only seconds unlike how much time has truly passed, and they will wake up with the sun greeting them. Yet, childrens are fresh babies with no knowledge, the world looks big. Unlike their tiny bodies who still struggle to walk.
The betrayal look when they woke up, searching for their favorite person, before realizing their mothers left to go sleep with you father. Only the sun shining brightly greets them, but the sun's hello is nothing compared to their mommy's smile.
Xu Rongyuan weakly handles Mu Lingye's wilted arm. He intends to slowly position the arm away, the arm below him is easy to deal with if the Crown Prince continues to sleep soundly. Worst case, it grips Xu Ronguuan back to his original spot.
"Mmh.."
Hearing the soft noise from the prince, Xu Rongyuan's conciousness suddenly isn't up to ruin the prince's mood. Sanbao had told him how his Royal Highness has insomnia and nightmares if he even slept for minute, which sort of explains why his body's immune system falters with a low fever. Exhaustion must have played a big role.
He'll let it slip once. Once someone comes, he'll leave Mu Lingye's chambers.
The sun's rays were stopped by Mu Lingye's curtains, small percentage able to seep through; stirring Xu Rongyuan from his deep sleep. As his head moves, his long hair splayed out across the plush bed. Ontop of him, someone heavy pressed him down to the bed.
"Jiusi.., did a nightmare appe—" He froze. Stunned. Jiusi isn't heavy. Xu Rongyuan wouldn't struggle like this, even if Jiusi placed all his weight on the young master of serene clinic. Hah. Jiusi didn't have a nightmare, but Xu Rongyuan is in one right now.
Unable to leave the Crown Prince alone last night, Xu Rongyuan stayed put and eventually fell asleep while waiting for Sanbao or someone to come and help him slip out of Mu Lingye's hold.
Soft lips grazed his skin—wait, grazed his skin?! Without delay, Xu Rongyuan's eyes widened in size, finally taking in his surroundings. His robes are halfway down, his torso fully exposed to the air... The Crown Prince laid on top of him, not giving Xu Rongyuan any space to work with.
"A-Niang..." He snuggles closer, "Don't leave.. Lingye..." It was just a slight movement from Xu Rongyuan, yet he's already reacting strongly.
Hearing such gentle plead of mumbles, Xu Rongyuan can't help but sympathizes. He doesn't want to or atleast, he knows he shouldn't feel sorry for the frustrations and sadness Mu Lingye has caused, but he can feel sorry for the prince who lost its mother.
His hands slowly moves; patting Mu Lingye's back with one hand, the other stroking the other's silky long blach hair. Xu Rongyuan would definitely be executed if the Crown Prince wakes up in a bad mood and sees him doing this...
Sanbao, where are you? Are you leaving your job so I'm the one handling this?
Mu Lingye shifts slightly, "A-Niang..."
Damn. What is Xu Rongyuan supposed to do at this point? The Crown Prince is calling out. Seriously. He isn't trained for this type of situation.
Aghh. If Jiusi was in his position, what would I have done?... Wait, maybe that'll work?
Soon, hums of a gntle melody echoes the infamous cold Crown Prince, filtering out the bad thoughts of the servants preparing for the prince's mood swing so early in the day.
Twirling the other's hair, Xu Rongyuan continues to accompany the second prince's sleep until the sun shines brighter, greeting the two so intently. The flowing curtains lazily blocked its light from reaching the corners of the sleeping royal's face. the peace he held in the closed and quiet room soon changes with hundreds of footsteps, followed suit with shoutings.
"The Crown Prince Mu Lingye is sleeping inside—Do not dare to brazenly come here!" The familiarity of Sanbao's voice reaches Xu Rongyuan's ears, so..that Eunuch was near the vicinity this entire time.
"You—! How will you explain the dissapearance of a physician that was last seen going inside of the Crown Prince's palace?"
Mu Linghao!
Xu Rongyuan tried to get up—his body immediately pulled back down by a strong hand, "Ah..!"
The Crown Prince is fully awake, his lips curving up to a smile that dosn't quite reach his eyes, "Stay quiet." His right hand slides up Xu Rongyuan's lips, parting the trembling gaping mouth.
He thought for a long time whilst he woke; Mu Linghao has everything Mu Lingye doesn't have, it is permissable to take a single thing that he doesn't clearly own yet want. It is not a need to him, is it? It's a speck of dust between the Third Prince and the Ninth Prince's bond.
"Mmf..!" Xu Rongyuan grips Mu Lingye's robe, if Mu Linghao came in this instant, there would be a huge misunderstanding...! Don't tell me his Royal Highness has been awake this entire time?!
"Move!"
Mu Linghao's voice sounded through the place, servants whispering to each other.
He's never one to hit a Prince, but he'll be in bigger trouble if everyone sees them in bed together! He rose his left hand, before it was clasped with the other's hand.
A low chuckle came from behind. Shivers went down Xu Rongyuan's spine as Mu Lingye breathed in the smell of the Physician he knows that brother of his visits loves to visit. It just so happens Mu Lingye could sleep so well... so it's a need, right? It's way more important than Mu Linghao's want.
The doors to Mu Lingye's room opened widely.
Collective gasps filled the halls. How scandalous of the two, shamelessly continuing their night activities from before to the next morning. Even if there's curtains shielding the two, the figures of the two nestling close to each other is already enough evidence for the ones gathered that day.
``-> Nonsensical Plot. OOC. Writing sucks. Pretty doll is written once. Si Ye got a creepy vibe going on. I probably missed a few points just because my head mixes. Going off the vibes and few information. Edited the images for fun. Headcanons Headcanons, it's all in the head and I'm open to any thoughts.
``-> Si Ye met Xu Rongyuan whilst the Physician was gathering herbs—someway or somehow. At first, Si Ye blankly stared as soft lips asked a few directions, the boy sweating under his gaze. Even if Xu Rongyuan showed quite a good poker face, Si Ye could sense what he was thinking; Who is this masked person in the middle of the woods? I need to get of here fast.. Thinking about how nervous the boy is sends dopamine in Si Ye's head. More importantly, Si Ye felt weirdly at peace hearing Xu Rongyuan's voice.
``-> After giving a few pointers, Si Ye decided on guiding Xu Rongyuan when he bumped into the other again(He definitely didn't send a butterfly to follow). He found Xu Rongyuan quite adorable, getting scared easily, progressively sweating and avoiding his quiet touches. It's not everyday that the Priest find one wandering the mountains, and it's not everyday he so graciously lend a hand. Other days... sacrificing one never hurts his Believers.
``-> Observing the boy picking even more herbs along the way, clearly amazed by the floras flourishing in the deep dark mountain—something clicked within Si Ye. Isn't this like a cat? Hearing the younger (Si Ye assumes) whispered voice felt like heaven on earth for the past hour leading the way, he didn't find himself being lost to riddles for once. Glancing at Xu Rongyuan who still looking up and down the flower and a book his hand holds, Si Ye approached quietly. He reached his hand out, "If you would like, enter the mountains every six days the same way, I will show you more of these herbs you so long for."
``-> It was a coincidence appearing in the mountains. In fact, Xu Rongyuan knows he didn't enter a mountain that is quite ominous. He's certain of it. The smell is different from the original mountain he halfway explored. And the way he even entered, for half a second, he felt the mountains shift, his heart thumping loudly against his chest. He remembered falling down in a clear area with nothing that could have potentially trip him.
``-> Xu Rongyuan accepted the offer after having clear judgement in his eyes. In truth, he never thought his basket would be so bountiful. He came because he read in a mythology book, there is a herb that could cure every chronic illness there is. Few he picked up along the way are shown in the book, so there could be a chance Mu Linghao could be cured by him with the help of this man's mountain.
``-> Sure, the way Si Ye stares is off putting and downright sends shivers down Xu Rongyuan's spine, if it helps even a little to his friend's suffering then... He showed Si Ye the book page, his heart beating faster when the other came close. It didn't matter to him anymore whether Si Ye was a friend or foe. Right now, he's the only one who may know the wherebouts of a legendary herb. Xu Rongyuan never wants to see his friend faked being fine, he's supposed to be able to help him. Even on his own death bed, he'll find a cure. In any way, if anything ever happens the next time he visits, he already marked all the trees they passed by; never too cautious of a strange man with a staff and a butterfly mask.
``-> Seeing the page, Si Ye quietly nodded—not saying anything in particular. Is he captivated by the voice? He is. Did the hopeful eyes with long lashes of the young one stir something? The long hair? Who knows. Possibly. But alas, it is their first meeting and he is a priest. He can't ask for where the boy lived nor if he is willing to be his 'medicine'. He'll wait for the pretty doll to loosen his guards. Coming up a few excuses or showing other rare herbs may help prolonging the search of the herb Xu Rongyuan had showed. Maybe then, he can ask him to join ♪ It irked him however, when Xu Rongyuan says he can't guarantee to visit every week. A feeling of frustration creeped Si Ye. It's unreasonable to expect the boy to come every week..
``-> Xu Rongyuan after finally getting to the foot of the mountain, exchanged names with Si Ye. That turned out to be a bad decision, as for the week, he kept sneezing—leading Jiusi to ask him to lay down and take a rest. He would later found out the mountain is somehow connected to Nanjiang and Si Ye is a Priest of the Eternal Night the hard and long way. An encounter he wished he gave up on from the first week.
``-> Receiving an invitation to Nanjiang because of a patient is rare and takes a long time to prepare. With the two countries in tension with each other, such visits became less accepted for the Serene Clinic. But this time, Xu Rongyuan doesn't want to reject it and hurried to make permission to leave the Capital for the needed days; An old friend of his father's is in dire need of help, yet is stubborn enough to not want to approach a nearby clinic that is not his father's.
``-> When he arrived, he's grateful the children of the man tries their best to make it as discreet as possible, making sure his identity is hidden from the crowds and servants. He spent a week treating the patient, the situation was worse than he iniatially thought, and stayed up at every minute to see progress. At the end of the week, the older man got better and only need to drink more medicines without being stubborn. It was a simple illness, but it could worsen to the point of death if the patient refused medicine or check up. Finally, Xu Rongyuan was about to leave, but was invited to dine at a restaurant in the Jianghu. He still had a week or two permission, so it should be fine.
``-> Dining at a high end restaurant felt quite strange and out of place for Xu Rongyuan. He thought they'd enjoy it all together, but Old Li has business to do.. so it is just Jiusi and him for today. Atleast the yellow clothed boy is excited to try the restaurant out, that made Xu Rongyuan feel a bit better.
``-> On the way to the restaurant, Xu Rongyuan bumped into a red haired man. He apologized, he doesn't have the strength to find anyone today.. and Jiusi could end up hurt while on Jianghu. Thankfully the man didn't seem to mind, laughing it off. He then asked the scroll Xu Rongyuan is holding; a reservation for Hundred Flavors Pavillion. We're just two people.. and he seems familiar with the route, inviting him won't hurt.
``-> The three sat down in the private room, a servant soon arriving. Xu Rongyuan noticed the servant tensing, but maybe it's just because he is wearing a veil accompanied by two guys wearing a bamboo hats and one a sword, the other a heavy sword..? He tries to calm the mood by asking Fei Luodao for reccomendations(they introduced each other on the way). The Red Haired stared at Xu Rongyuan intensely, he reminds me of the cats I feed.. Ah, isn't Xiao Ai becoming a mother? Mother cats need high proteins.. High protein..... and so he recommended dishes based on his foolish thoughts. He usually recommend while thinking something else, but somehow.. the vibes of Xu Rongyuan is that of a cat and he couldn't shake it off.
``-> After ordering and explaining the dishes, Fei Luodao stood up. Xu Rongyuan asked where the other is going, which he replied : "Cooking the two of yours food!" He laughed as the shock came clearly on the two guys faces, they looked at the waiter's expression and she just points a towards a wall.
``-> 'Fei Luodao, Head Chef of Hundred Flavors Pavillion.'
``-> The food was more than delicious. A bite of it drained all of Xu Rongyuan and Jiusi's exhaustion of travel away.. nothing was beneath perfection. Every last bite and broth tasted heavenly! Fei Luodao had sat back on his seat, enjoying the faces of the two. Paying close attention to Xu Rongyuan's. He was just going to have some fun joining the two, but.. he seems to be in a bit of a pickle, the compliments Xu Rongyuan gave him made his heart beat faster than ever. It's pumping out of his chest. He says he's a travelling physician—falling in love would be bad! I might not be able to see him again!! He's the one always flirting, not fall in love. Crushes won't do well in the Jianghu..
``-> Even so, Fei Luodao saw the two of them out the Pavillion. Jiusi lending a shoulder for a 'slightly' drunken Xu Rongyuan. It was Fei Luodao's fault for wanting to close the night with a drink of alcohol! But before saying goodbyes, his face reddened like his hair.. X-Xu Rongyuan just..! He ran back to the Pavillion like a child, he's never washing his face ever again!! Or forget this memory.. he still needs to keep the kitchen sanitary qwq..

Kuzunoha event story out for a while. I need to talk about my thoughts on how much Fateshaper and Seimei parallel each other so much. Lowkey, my memory may be foggy with certain events but yeah here we go
Fateshaper, this new information of what he used to be like back then oouugh. He used to be so much like Seimei. There ideals practically match up! Fateshaper heavily believed in coexistence between spirits and humans. He was seen as naive but that didn’t stop him, he continued to hold up his rules and morals and he was so close to his goal!
His wedding with a Kitsune was gonna seal the Pact of Tokoyo and his goal would be achieved. But the massacre happened caused by Masakado happened and that final step towards peace: gone. All of Fateshaper’s efforts were all for nothing. Distrust and hatred festered intensely between humans and spirits. All that work is gone and presumably (since we don’t know how the events of the blood wedding happened exactly) this is where he looses to his anger and have a desire for revenge.
Then there’s Seimei. Like I mentioned before, his ideals align with Fateshaper. He also wants coexistence between spirits and humans. Like Fateshaper, Seimei stubbornly upholds those beliefs and those beliefs get challenged. For example, the Kidomaru incident when Kidomaru (half yokai like him) attacks their fellow classmates and Tadayuki banishes his own adopted son. This deeply shakes Seimei but nevertheless he still persists with his goal.
Here, I’m really just inferring and making a theory because they never explain why the OG Seimei model they use has black hair but child Seimei has white hair-my theory or how I view it is that the Kidomaru incident probably made Seimei want to change himself to look more human. If there is natural distrust towards how much he looks nonhuman, then people would hear him out more if he looked otherwise.
And Seimei becomes a great onmyoji. Everyone praises him, he’s seen as the best of his age and that’s great right? If we ignore the guilt that’s wallowing in Seimei for ignoring the shrine maidens that Yorimitsu was sacrificing to Orochi, and presumable pressure of being the great onmyoji and having to be seen as this perfect untouchable figure when he’s not.
No one would expect the great onmyoji to have his own problems. They idolize him as this fixer of all problems! But OG Seimei didn’t step in to stop Yorimitsu from sacrificing those shrine maidens until the very last minute since he was just gonna split his soul in half to cleanse his ‘sin’.
ATP, that’s where Seimei nearly destroys his own goals and ideals. Seimei splitting his soul in half goes against his own ideals of human and spirit coexistence, if he himself can’t even accept the two halves of himself how can he be anything but a hypocrite?
Seimei-now split into two: Kuro and Shiro Seimei, his goal he destroyed himself. He could have very well ended up on the same path as Fateshaper: Kuro Seimei devours Shiro Seimei and wants revenge to destroy the world. But that doesn’t happen. Shiro Seimei picks himself up despite no memories but he wants to make amends for all his wrongs. That’s where Seimei succeeds but Fateshaper fails.
And another parallel to note is their relationship with Kagura and Ayako.
Seimei wants to help Kagura regain her memories and save her from Orochi while Fateshaper wants to free Ayako from Magatsuhi.
Seimei succeeded in this and did help save Kagura from being sacrificed to Orochi however, Fateshaper has not. There isn’t much to go into here but I just find it interesting how in these areas, Seimei always succeeds but Fateshaper doesn’t.
They are basically mirrors to each other and Seimei is what Fateshaper used to be and still could have been.
What I find interesting as well as if the wedding had been a success and not a massacre, Seimei wouldn’t have need to be the one to bring peace to everyone and not be objectified as everyone’s hope and that he had to be the one to always solve the problems usually. Of course, he has his friend and shikigami who are by his side and so he isn’t alone, but he could have been burden free and that just pains me so much.
Anyways, I greatly enjoy Kuzunoha’s event story because it does delve a little into Seimei’s character and also gives the tiniest bit of information about Fateshaper (who NE hasn’t let out of the basement, please give me his event story and parallel it to Seimei and I’ll go wild)
Again, there isn’t much information on Fateshaper besides these tidbits of information regrettably so most of my yapping is about Seimei but once he’s out of the basement, please let my crazy idea be right NE 🙏

I know not a lot of people might know about this game, but I do love this bastard. He is so extra and absolutely horny for Seimei (one of the main characters).
I've been thinking a lot about "The Storm" recently and have been looking at historical timelines trying to figure out the unknown triggers for the storms of 1996 and1987, and when the storm that reversed everything back to 1936 took place after 1977. I just wanna ramble about some theories surrounding the timeline of events preceding the main story because The Storm is just really fascinating to me and I am this close to trying to figure out what the molecular structure of asymmetrical nuclide R would look like because that also fascinates me (Medicine Pocket we need to cook). My source for the timeline is the Reverse 1999 fandom wiki, though I really wish there could be a push for something like the Touhou or Zelda wiki in the fandom because I think that would work really well for this game.
Long post ahead, BE WARNED
So first up I wanna quickly discuss what we already know about The Storm since it'll help give hints and dates for when other storms take place. First, the Storm Syndrome manifests as a reflection of its respective era's standout traits (for lack of a better term) i.e. the Storm Syndrome of 1966, 1929, and 1912. Second, The Storm will often be triggered by major world events. Keep in mind that the artificial Storms Manus Vindictae made would moreso tamper with the chronology of historical events, making them happen sooner than expected in the case of the artificial storms of 1929 and 1912. So taking all of that into account, we can speculate what the hypothetical trigger events of each era were if unspecified which....most of them are, so, this is gonna be fun.
I was initially going to say that the trigger event for the sixth storm of 1913 was the assassination of Fritz Ferdinand or World War One, but if this storm was natural and not influenced by Manus Vindictae then the years don't line up. However, the Midnight Whistle event story actually helped me find a different, more likely candidate for the trigger event, that being the second Balkan war. Since the First Balkan War had a large impact in the Midnight Whistle storyline, I think it would make the most sense if the second war was what actually caused the storm. I also think it would be really interesting to see Marcus (Săracu pescăruș mic...) and Rubuska interact, as Romania would declare war on Bulgaria in July of 1913 and they were both probably impacted by the sixth storm (Marcus is Romanian and Rubuska is Bulgarian). This one is mainly based on thematic cohesion and what the story chose to emphasize in The Midnight Whistle so this one is probably a bit of a stretch.
Next is the trigger of the fifth storm itself, and based on Lopera's profile (which the wiki cites), the fourth storm reversed time to the 1930s, the specific year can really only be gathered from character profiles. This made figuring out the trigger event for the fifth storm incredibly easy, probably being triggered by Hitler's invasion of Poland in 1939, kickstarting WWII.
And now we have the trigger event of the third storm, the one where Vertin officially became The St. Pavlov Foundation's Timekeeper. At first I thought the trigger for the third storm would have been some kind of major historical event that happened in 1987 but I'll be honest I could not find one. However, this is where the Storm Syndrome comes in to help. The Storm Syndrome of 1987 turned people into shapes, stylistically resembling the work of the Memphis Group, which funnily enough, disbanded in 1987. I don't know how the disbandment of an architecture group would be impactful enough to cause an entire storm to happen, but I'll probably have to look into the history of the group and design aesthetics that influenced it. Maybe their disbandment represented the conservatism of the 80s negatively impacting art? Again, I need to research the Memphis Group and design style a lot more in order to figure out the logic, but the storm syndromes of 1929 and 1912 both had a correlation to their trigger events so I'm going with this theory for now.
I had a similar struggle figuring out the trigger event for the seventh Storm in the game's tutorial/prologue, so I once again started with the storm syndrome. From there I looked into comic book history during the 1960s, which lead me to the counter-culture movement of the 60s, to a fuck ton of protests that happened during 1966. This led me to believe that the storm of 1966 was caused by the amount of protests that were happening at the time and possibly the Vietnam war intensifying. I think this would work thematically with the whole pop-art look of the Storm Syndrome in the tutorial.
Then there's the fifth storm, so I don't really have one specific candidate in mind and wanted to save for last because it gave me the most trouble... So first there's the launch of the Voyager probes in 1977, which is assuming that the fifth storm happened in the same year as the fourth storm. This would also make vertin around 16 if the specific year the the fourth storm reversed to was 1936, (the Wiki cites Lopera's profile as evidence so I'll use that as proof for now), which also lines up with Vertin's age in refererence to Sonnetto's UTTU article upposing the in universe UTTU articles are actually accurate to their ages (I consider the ages provided there to be a minimum for how young they could be). The second possibility is that the Iranian Hostage crisis of 1979 was the catalyst for the fourth Storm. This would make Vertin 19, which would honestly work a lot better for the way she's written and also gives her more time to actually get some experience in being The Timekeeper and all. I was even thinking that the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 could have been the catalyst for the storm, but that would also make Vertin pushing 30 if we're going with the timeline I suggested here.
Obviously there's some wiggle room for the length of time between the fourth and fifth storm. We can only assume time got reversed to 1936 based on Lopera's profile, so we've got roughly 9 years of wiggle room. This would also put Vertin in her early 20s is the year the fourth storm took place in was 1979, which also makes the Berlin Wall event as a catalyst for the fourth even more nonsensical considering how Vertin is written.
I just really hope we can get more info on the previous storms because I really want to try and fit in the Nightmare at Green lake event into the timeline somehow because how the fuck would they have gotten to the 1970s in a timeline where Vertin is well established as the Timekeeper and lines up with the main story. Despite my confusion however, this was really fun to theorize on. Let me know if there's anything I got wrong, I am looking at one fandom wiki page on the storm so there is most likely stuff I missed. I really hope more people start talking about the timeline of events because I really really want to know what happened during those previous storms and where some of the event stories fit in to all of this.

OK SO SPOILERS FOR THE NEWEST REVERSE 1999 EVENT BUT WE GOT INFO ON THE FIFTH STORM BABYYYYYYYY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ok so, here is pretty much everything I got from watching the event for the first time:
So first of all, the fifth storm was indeed artificially created by Manus Vindictae as a result of the Professor poking too far into the Depths of Myth.
Speaking of, the actual storm itself is caused by collective unconsciousness, whether it be tampered with by Manus Vindictae or be a natural cause. This lines up with what we knew from previous stories in the game involving the "storm," and could possibly explain why the Manus are so cult-like. They're pretty much shaping a mass collective unconsciousness surrounding the idea of a "new era."
I also want to talk about how this collective unconsciousness shapes each era's respective Storm Syndrome. Going back to my original theory, I think this also reaffirms my theory on the trigger event for the storm of 1966 being when counter culture was at it's height. A common factor in all of the storm syndromes is a desire for "change" more specifically, the idea of a "prosperous new era." This is the philosophy the drives the manus, the philosophy behind the storm syndrome of the 9th storm, and the storm syndrome of 1929, and the general zeitgeist surrounding the turn of the millennium in 1999. This also completely changes my original view on how and when the storm happens, as it isn't just when a certain big historical moment occurs! I know this was the storm in the 1930s that took time back to the 1910s, and if I remember correctly the pre-event daily thingy mentioned the year 1936 specifically, I'm not so sure, but either way this is a HUGE breakthrough!
This also leads me to another theory I have about what makes a certain location "immune" to the storm. If the event that triggers the storm is the collective unconsciousness wishing to embrace change, then the places that are immune to the storm are likely those that remain stagnant. Vertin's suitcase can be described as a time capsule of sorts, The Tombstone museum commemorates the dead and preserves their history, the Island of Apeiron literally has not changed since the times of ancient Rome and Greece and its storm immunity only decreased once a change in the status quo was brought to its shores. The foundation itself is also this unchanging preservation of society before the storm, it was a place that was built to never change and be a rock anchoring civilization. An explanation for Regulus' record granting immunity to the storm would be that music is timeless, music transcends all languages and eras, a point that was emphasized during the Last Evenings on Earth event.
Another thing I found incredibly interesting was Felicienne taking over Brume's body, and that her and Celia's souls were lingering in the Depths of Myth/collective unconscious during the event. I think this can also help explain why people who get reversed during the storm don't necessarily die but reappear in other eras. The storm doesn't necessarily "kill" you per say, rather it brings you back into the collective unconscious. This also makes the name "Pneuma" make a lot more sense, and also why the psycube collection area's background is depicting a city in rain. I always wondered if it was referencing the storm somehow and GUESS WHO WAS RIGHT!!! >:D The term "pneuma" specifically refers to the "spirit, soul, or creative force of a person" (thanks google), and if the storm is basically a result of a bunch of people's spirits or imagination pouring down from the sky, then this also ties into the idea of the collective unconscious being the driving force that brought down the fifth storm in the "A Flowing Feast" event. So the storm is really just yoinking up people's souls from the millenium and redistributing it if that makes sense. It's more of a "reincarnation" kind of deal where you forget the memories of your past life. Speaking of this makes me want an event centered around the idea of Samsara or themed around Buddhism, as I think that could also be a killer way to further develop how the storm works and narratively develop the narrative themes of the game.
Another thing this explains is why a lot of the creepy Manus stuff in Antarctica so heavily involves human sacrifice, and also why the ruins are (seemingly) immune to the storm's waters. The flood (and storm) water is made up of a fuck ton of liquified pneuma. How? Well look at how Arcana was revived, with each of the manus members sacrificing themselves for what they perceive as a simple idea, a religious deity. I think Arcana was pulled from the "Depths of Myth" in the same way that the mirror reflection of Paris in "A Flowing Feast" was summoned. Through the use of pneuma to manifest the collective unconsciousness created by the Manus. This also makes Arcana a Cognito hazard.
This also makes sorting out a consisting timeline harder, but it's confirmed in this event that after the fifth storm Vertin was able to go on field missions. Especially if a majority of the storms are artificial so good luck to me in the future I guess.
Also, I think this ties into some of the political themes of Reverse 1999's story if Manus Vindictae is the game's allegory for the conservative right. The moment people begin asking for change, the storm, something they manufactured, punishes them by wiping the slate clean and starting over at a different point in time. I think we can also use this to help pin-point how long each interval in between each storm was depending on the political swing of that era potentially. I know people don't really like bringing politics into fun stuff like this but whether you like it or not, all art is political. Whether the creator made the work with the intention of spreading a political message or not, their ideals will still exist in the work. I also think that's the reason why the circle was chosen as the specific shape the storm immunity ritual uses. You can even see them in some of the earlier Manus Vindicate boss fights, most notably the Marsh Creation at the end of the game's second main chapter. A circle is unending, a symbol of the status quo, things "coming full circle" and repeating itself, like an ouroboros eating its tail.
GOD I love this game's lore so much IT'S SO FUCKING COOL and the newest event made it even cooler I'm so fucking happy about the newest event story and that's not even touching on the storytelling in the event. The whole thing felt like a strange dream, and while I understand if that isn't everyone's cup of tea it's MY cup of tea. I love weird sci-fi fantasy stories like this and it inspires me to potentially create my own story based on the weird dreams I've had and just letting them be dreamlike in their writing and storytelling.
...That is, once I make the villain a replacement for the role Springtrap from FNAF 3 plays in my dreams because everytime he shows up it always turns into some kind of psychological horror where he keeps trying to hunt me down and kill me, don't ask me why Springtrap specifically seems to haunt me in my sleep because I couldn't tell you either...
