NOW AT WARSRAGING

The girl’s ingenuity got on her nerves, but Neptune’s only reaction was a twitch of her eyebrow. She stared at the spot where the enemy had stood before being defeated and disappearing - something like a youma or a daimon, perhaps. There was still no way to be sure, and this stranger just made the process of learning about the new enemy even slower.

               “Because you  didn’t know  what lay  beneath  what you saw.                I’ve seen good people being turned into monsters in the past                through no fault of their own. Killing that thing could have very                well meant the death of an innocent.”

The girl’s words brought a chill down her spine. The death of an innocent? Honey didn’t quite understand what she meant by that, but if there was any truth in what she had said, then the blonde wanted to hear her out. If learning more about what had just happened would prevent Honey from doing something reckless and saving someone the next time, then she would do it in a heartbeat.

Perhaps it wasn’t much for her PTSD than the apologies and the crystal everyone walked on around her for weeks or months after Pietro’s death that she had actually decided to put all of the super-powers-avenging thing behind her; she thought as much when Honey’s words reached her and she had to gulp back the knot that scorched a hole in the middle of her throat. “No, please.” She told her, forcing a smile along her lips that she had many times practices in the mirror; one that seemed genuine if it weren’t for the fact that it didn’t reach her eyes. “It’s okay, you couldn’t have known. You did noz’ing v’rong.” With a couple of nods of her head she reached a hand to rest on the girl’s arm, squeezing it gently and reassuringly for a couple of seconds. “I v’ouldn’t have said anyz’hing, but I didn’t v’ant to lie eiz’her.” And that, strangely enough, was nothing but the truth.

Belle squinted at Honey. “I’m pretty sure I’ve told you about it, but alright.” She began telling Honey about the section as they walked, using her hands to animate and emphasise her thoughts. When she was pausing for breath at the top of a grassy little knoll she’d run up onto, she turned to look at Honey, eyes shining. “Look at that sky!”

She listened quietly as Belle spoke, a gleeful smile never leaving her features; Honey loved it when her friend got excited over her books     she could tell they truly made Belle happy. It took her a second to process the sudden change of subject, and the blonde was quick to look up. “Gosh, it looks beautiful!!” She grinned widely, clasping her hands together. “Oh, oh!! Belle, we should take a picture!!” Honey announced before taking her phone out, a hopeful look in her eyes as she looked at the brunette.

There was honestly nothing Haruka could come up with to put the girl at ease. A stranger offering a ride to a young girl after dark could have either good or ill intentions, and while Haruka wanted nothing other than to help her, she understood her hesitance.

               “It’s not a problem, I am in no hurry.                               I’d feel horrible not knowing whether you got home safe or not.”

Her gaze rested on the stranger for a moment. If the blonde wanted to harm Honey, she would’ve done it already; with no one else around, she would prove to be an easy target. Slowly, Honey nodded, a faint smile on her features as she held out a hand to the woman.

“They’re…” Jemma trails off, not knowing how to respond. She doesn’t know how things are between them. They hardly even speak to each other. “They’re… I don’t know, really.”

       a big dramatic sigh. she was tired, she’ll admit. and            it would be easier to just fall asleep then deal with            aiko for the rest of the night. “Fine. But we are NOT           sharing a bed.”
