South African version of a Welsh lovespoon. Well almost. . . The guy would carve this but give it to his girlfriends parents to declare his intentions of marriage, they would then expect an official visit from his parents and the girl would have to return with them for a months trial . If I was African , there's probably a good chance I would be returned and end up a spinster!

Long time , no write , but Woodstock in Cape Town is such a creative , energising space that I have the urge to share it with some photos, Dont listen to the tourist information guide who advises us not to visit . Blue sky - such a novelty

Our range of chalk paints are selling well and most customers are using them for furniture -but I love the depth they can add to walls when you layer complementary  tones . A similar effect can be achieved by  painting a base colour and then using broad brush strokes using the same paint  darkened (add black paint ) or lightened (add a paler shade) and also another similar tone of paint e.g. dark green with dark petrol blue.The possibilities are endless and so much more interesting than a plain flat wall colour.
