A heavy heart was a hell of a thing to carry around. She was in the window, one foot perched on the window sill and ready to jump down, when she heard a familiar voice behind her. Leaving was killing her enough as it was.
The thought of leaving Junpei behind was breaking her heart. If she stayed around then everything would fall apart around her. As it was she was already having a panic attack. Heart racing so loud it was pounding in her ears. Body shaking with fear. Something that she had not felt in a very long time.
In fact she couldn't remember the last time she felt anything but a all encompassing numbness. Then Junpei came into her life and gave it meaning. Gave her something to look forward to. Unfortunately that came with a fear of that being stripped away from her. Takaya had made it very clear that attachments were to be avoided.
Golden hues looked back to see none other than the Lover's there and those words shook her to her core. All she wanted was to run straight towards Junpei and into his loving embrace but that thought also made her feel sick to her stomach. If she did that Takaya would surely kill him.
She was not permitted to have attachments. Attachments made her weak. As her head and her heart started to go to war she froze in the window sill and stared.
"I want to...but this is the way that it has to be. I'll only bring him death and destruction." she paused for a moment, a lingering sadness in her gaze as she looked up towards the nearly full moon.
"Don't let him forgive me for this. I don't deserve it. I don't deserve him."

OOC ; Alright so I'm going to post a starter call in a second but I do want to let those that I owe know that I'm going to get to those as well in due time. This past month has been super crazy so please bare with me. People I currently owe that are in my drafts and I absolutely will get to are as follows; @blazeoflife @ochazos x 3 @yukcri x 2 @mjrarcana @kaeruninja I'm writing this mostly for me so that I don't forget and I can keep track of things on my end, but also to let people know that I haven't forgotten them.

"Deliverance... huh..." Makoto stared up at the sky. It was cold this time of year, and the Dark Hour painted everything in an eerie light. Somehow though, it didn't make him nervous anymore. Not standing on the roof of the dorm. In the light of a half moon, he could still remember the very first time he summoned his persona. The way the fear pulsed in his veins as he took that dangerous step across the threshold.
To save his own life...
.... to save someone else's life....
His own deliverance. A revival. His life had changed a lot since then. Loss, anger, joy... All things he had been numb to for such a long time. He had felt them all since that day. He wouldn't trade it for anything. The pain he felt when it happened was nothing. A baptism of suffering to grant his rebirth.
He doesn't bother telling her its dangerous to be out in the Dark Hour. She knows. It isn't his place to lecture anyone about safety. He had too many reckless choices and acts of self-destruction hanging around his neck. He had thrown on casual clothes and walked to the roof without expecting her here. A strange sorrow has pulled at his heart. Could it be he missed Pharos? It had been some time since they had parted ways, but he still expected to see him when he woke during the Dark Hour.
"Is that something you only know in retrospect...? Has it already come when you saved Iori...?"
The words had slipped from her lips before she even processed that she spoke them out loud. Deliverance could mean many things to many people. For her maybe she longed for everything to be over so that her and all of her newly found friends could rest. She saw the stress that this caused the people around her and only wished to make them happy. Especially Junpei, Makoto, and Fuuka. Those were the three that she was the closest with. She could see the way all of this was effecting them.
Sometimes she could see bags underneath her loved ones eyes or the complete exhaustion when they came back from Tartarus. Chidori didn't go into that labyrinth often but she was thankful for the moments in which she could. At least then she could provide healing and aid for them. It was better than sitting back and worrying if they would ever return. Now she understood deeply how Fuuka felt.
Hell it was effecting her too. She had so many sleepless nights where she tossed and turned. So much so that she ended up sneaking off to Junpei's room to get some decent sleep some nights. Whenever she was with him it was like she could finally be at peace.
Little did she know Makoto had made his way up to the rooftop when she'd spoken those words.
The rooftop. It seemed to be the place where they often had their chats. She couldn't help wandering up here every so often. Mostly it was because she wanted to tend to the little garden that was up here. She'd found that she actually had quite the green thumb. Even without her powers.
Thinking on Makoto's words she could feel her heart beat race a little. Saving Junpei's life had always been a gamble on whether or not she would perish. Until very recently she'd been living on borrowed time. The beat of his heart when she'd restored his life it was something that still brought her endless joy til this day. She'd been prepared to die if it meant saving his life. There was still so much left for him to do and for her...she would have died soon after if she hadn't rolled the dice on bringing him back. Though, there wasn't any hesitation whatsoever. She just knew she had to save him.
As Chidori turned to face Makoto a very small smile on her lips as her hand rested over her heart, she spoke softly. "Yes, perhaps that has always been my answer. After all . . . he did save my wretched soul just as much as I saved his life."
She walked over to her friend and cocked her head to the side. "We're not heading out today are we? You should probably be getting some rest, right?"

Was there a fire? Or was it just her cheeks? Chidori felt her entire face flush a bright red as she cupped her face with both hands. He'd managed to fluster her with something so cheesy. Then again that was how Junpei was. Nudging him with her elbow she slowly looked up at him with a bright smile.
"If I had to give you a rating it'd be a twenty out of ten."

"Yeah, I can. It used to be pretty nonsensical but now it's a lot clearer." This probably had a lot to do with the fact she started understanding herself, her needs, and her passions more clearly. She was able to envision the future she wanted, the future she craved.
"Every drawing starts as a doodle. You can build on that. If you want I could help?"
