“Noel has been teaching you gambling?” he asked, wondering if perhaps that’s what she meant. From what little he knew of the younger Farron sister, he half expected her to play granny poker and bet with chocolates as opposed to say the late night card games Fang used to play on Pulse, fleecing them all of their gil.

“I’m… having trouble actually picturing this side of you,” Hope laughed, scratching his cheek. “Just what kind of games have you been playing? Is there some kind of grand, universal casino we’re not sure of…?”

“No!” She laughed. “Well, a little. I would play games with the NORA crew on Bodhum.” Before the Purge, before the l’Cie, and before all of their lives went to hell. The memory of them sitting around late at night, laughing, drinking, and playing card games made a sad smile pull at her lips especially when she remembered her fiance (if you could call him that now). She remembered sitting in his lap looking at his cards, him teaching her how to play. “Snow taught me.” Her voice was sadder than she intended it to be. So she forced a bright smile and looked up at him.

“Hey!” She said with a hand on her hip. “Why’s it so hard! I’m not all that sweet and innocent.” She smiled. “And yes there is!” She chirped. “It’s called Serendipity - it’s supposed to be the legendary Palace of Pleasure but it’s not completed. We think it’s just made up of people’s hopes and dreams. It’s in the Void Beyond. And I’m really good at Chocobo Racing, I’ll have you know. Noel and I have a Chocobo that’s undefeated!” She said proudly.

“Well of course I mean you,” he laughed. It was a little bit of a sore spot to think that they didn’t know really where (or when) Lightning was, but there was no denying that Serah and Noel were the ones criss-crossing time to try and mend everything. “But I wont be offended if you say no to using your gifts to make money.”

A lighthearted laugh left her, making her sound almost like a songbird - it was all she could do to hide how she really felt about her missing sister. There were times when she swore she’d never see Claire again. But she took a page out of Vanille’s book, and remained as upbeat as possible. “Noel and I have taken turns gambling!” She chimed in. “So I wouldn’t say no to help you make money.” She smiled. “You deserve a little reward for working so hard.”

The pinkette beams at the director, flashing him her ever cheery smile. “That’s not silly at all, Hope! I can see if I can help you with that. I’m sure Noel wouldn’t mind. Unless you meant Lightning. Gosh, it’s so hard to figure out who the time-travelling savior really is.” She couldn’t help but laugh at herself.

Feeling her lips against his, he returned the kiss, chuckling as she murmured against his lips. “I love you too.” The chime came naturally, as if those words had been a pure fact of his life. “Ah, everything’s been fine with NORA. The monster attacks have been down, so everyone’s been getting comfy.”

His words made her heart thrum against her chest. The pinkette believed in those words irrevocably and they made her swoon like the first time he declared his emotions. Nuzzling her nose against his she smiled and rested her hands against his broad chest as he spoke.

“I’m so glad to hear that!” She said, her hand going to her chest. “And no one got hurt, right?” She asked and then a look of concern crossed her features. “You didn’t get hurt did you?” She said as she looked him over and turning his arms over to make sure he was unscathed.

“Did you really?” She asked sweetly.

Feeling her forehead nuzzled against his own, he chuckled, those ice blue eyes of his searching for hers as her arms wrapped around his shoulders. He held her tight, reluctant to let her go for even a moment. And then her question came, urging him to smile. “Course I did!.”

His smile only made her smile brighten, as did his words. Slowly she pressed her lips against his. "I love you." She murmured. Pulling back somewhat she smiled, ocean-like blue eyes locked with his. "How was everything with NORA?"
