The Abaco Islands: the sister islands in the Bahamas
On vacation can be a chore in planning your leisure time and work can much less than expected. Everyone has a different set of criteria that defines the ideal vacation. It appears that the two desires are more important than a holiday fun and relaxation, or a combination of both. Many resorts or cruise ships seem to be marketed so that there seems to be dying and were shaken. You wait in long lines to eat in crowded restaurants and sleep in beds that even the dog would be comfortable in. There are many vacation spots, but they are not promoted. Those are the holidays that you want to find. That is, you want to find a holiday, do not let a vacation or a place you find. Just think 'on holidays past and say to yourself, or as much fun as the rest of you are getting. Not all our holidays past were wrong, but many of them could have been better. The Bahmas is a good example. The islands are so commercialized and you get bombarded with merchants trying to sell everything from hats all the way down to the sandals. So a few years before 911, I started a travel business planning, which ended a few months after 911 but I want to share with you some of the places we could find .. We have been in business not only to book a holiday, but planning a vacation. Our line was "We find rentals in places you've never heard of or never thought to go." I believe that many tourists or tourist thinks like me, and that is, returned from a vacation tired instead of resting. If there's one place on Earth where dreams stem from then the Abaco Islands may be just the place. Underline the title of this article is: "The romantic holiday of a lifetime." And 'one of those strange places that we all try to find a vacation spot where peace, beauty and solitude there. Planning a vacation takes into account many aspects of their lives in the monetary field. Although many tourists make budget for a paid vacation and for those who are willing to spend the money then the Abaco Islands may be a good choice. If the type of vacation you are looking for includes diversity without tourist traps that ensures the quiet life then the Abaco island can be just what you are looking for. I do not think the agenda is only on the island of romance or to lay in the sun for there is much more to the islands of Abaco. One of the sources that I found myself writing this article and I quote their home page http://oii.net/ voice: "We have: the most beautiful of water on Earth, beaches, islands, sailing, diving, rowing, fishing, nature preserves on land and sea, Fine Hotels, Club Lingerie, pensions, Fishing Lodges, Bed and Breakfasts, Restaurants, Shopping, Marinas, rental homes and condominiums, investment property and homes for sale. There are activities for the whole family and Quiet Get-away for couples. "The sports enthusiast can enjoy golf, tennis, scuba and snorkeling, day sails and water skiing. Quiet spot for reading or simply sitting and listening to the waves are many. These islands off the generic image tourist trap the Bahamas are known for. One might ask where are Abaco, because they are the sister islands in the Bahamas. They are smaller in size than the Bahamas and the doors are too small for cruise ships to doc so you have to fly or travel there by small boats. Only a 60 minute flight from South Florida are the islands to the north east of Nassau and Grand Bahama, where is the destination of Freeport. The Abaco Islands are the group's second largest island of the Bahamas. The 650 square miles with 13,000 residences are secluded islands by cruise ship tourists. The airports are not big enough for the major airlines making it difficult to fly during stormy seasons. April to July is the month to take a key off in the Abaco islands, but the islands are beautiful all year round. rowing and sailing, as these are islands, it is obviously a preferred choice on this romantic holiday. If it is a moonlight stroll along the bay or sailing the blue waters under a clear blue sky, the water is beautiful, peaceful, romantic, and often loneliness. You will find many uninhabited islets, covering 120 kilometers of coastline on the island. The time should be set aside for sleep-hop village where you will find the 18th century affected villages and historic museums that remember what life was like 200 years ago. Although this is an island paradise, there is a variety of choices to enjoy your vacation. The Abaco islands can be found on the map before spotting the Bahamas and then look to the northeast. the largest islands of Abaco, the Abaco are Great and Little Abaco, and popular sites are the well-known hotels in the cays;. Elbow Cay, Man-O-War Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Guana Cay, Stranger's Cay, Umbrella Cay and Walker's Cay. A hot spot for tourists in the United States for years, the islands have provided a long history of refuge from the hectic life in the United States. The Abaco Islands was first settled by British loyalists who have 600 left the country after the U.S. declared its independence. The first settlement was at Carleton Point. Grand Cay was once a favorite retreat of former U.S. president Richard Nixon. These are the islands that you see on the map because they are the largest group of Abaco. The ladies want to shop in a Man-O-War Cay is an ideal stopover. It 's the capital of the construction of boats in the Bahamas' for the last 200 years and is the most water-oriented Cay in the Abacos. Some boats are handmade and you can see the craftsman to build these beautiful boats. Be prepared to walk a lot or you can take a golf cart, but there are no motorized vehicles allowed, as in other sectors of Abaco. There are many well kept homes as well as many marine-oriented stores and shops along the coast. You will not find a more beautiful place to buy canvas products Cay and this will keep you busy for a whole afternoon. an island off the coast of the Abacos is Great Guana Cay. Guana Cay is located between Green Turtle and Man-O-War Cays with the electric blue Atlantic Ocean to the east and the brilliant turquoise waters of the Sea of Abaco to the west. The island is approximately seven miles long with a beautiful sea side beach offers great swimming, snorkeling or just a walk on the beach. The other side of the 'island is bonefish in the shallow bays of the Cay. great fishing along the reefs and offshore on the ocean is an abundant choice for recreation. There is a small settlement on the island where there are some shops and restaurants. A dive shop offers full-service day 1 / 2 and full day snorkeling and diving excursions. So everyone can enjoy this vacation paradise including the man who is offered a wonderful arena of shops to visit. The itineraries for the holidays can be created with so much diversity can become bored in the sun is fine. Understand the time to visit sights of interest. The Abaco Islands is a place for the site as offering sites like Pelican Cay National Park, an underwater preserve, or, the Abaco National Park, 20,000 acres in Southern Abaco including the nesting area and the ' habitat of the Abaco Parrot Who loves museums can spend a quiet afternoon al. Albert Lowe Museum, a restored palace of 150 years, which now houses exhibits on local history. There is also the Memorial Sculpture Garden, comprising about 30 Bahamians, representing different islands of the Bahamas, where you can stay in an elegant and tranquil garden setting. Thus, the choices pre-agenda that we have a very different route that can be drafted. The commercial hub of the islands and the third largest city in the Bahamas is Marsh Harbor on Great Abaco, which has a plethora of well-shops provided and marinas that provide services to meet every need sailing. There are relatively few green turtles remaining on Green Turtle Cay, but I grew up here on the farm and considered food. Occasionally, it is boiled turtle or turtle stew, will appear on restaurant menus. Be aware when purchasing items made from turtle shell that they may be left behind, as it is illegal to import these products in many countries. There are a lot of memories that can be traced, but make sure you check / read in imports and exports so as not to be surprised by a healthy fee. Cays There are several to choose from when planning your accommodation. Walker's Cay is the northernmost island in the Bahamas. Its waters are overrun with game fish such as tuna, dolphin, blue marlin, billfish, and kingfish among others. Walker's Cay Undersea Adventures offers bone fishing, deep sea fishing, secluded island picnics, tours of the nursery for tropical fish, and barbecues for groups of immersion. We believe that a great vacation offers more than just relaxation, romance or isolation. Women can shop, but many people love golf and fishing. Treasure Cay is my domain is suggested to anchor for a vacation in the Abaco islands'. There is plenty for both men and women. Treasure Cay has an 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, a marina and facilities for fishing, boating and scuba diving. There are two hotels on this island to choose from. First-Treasure Cay Hotel Resort and the other, Banyan Beach Club, which require a stay of more than 3 days (with kitchenette) and are reasonably priced. whether visitors to the island are on honeymoon or romantic, passionate about sport or looking for sites, or simply looking for a quiet a quiet rest, they all go home with a smile. Good research is essential in planning a vacation is very critical and only source of information is a critical way, the conclusion is a good vacation is one where there is diversity .. fun, relaxation and something for everyone to enjoy the Internet is a good source of information for sale, but brochures can be easily paint any image in the minds of customers. For those of us who have taken a cruise we all know the good points and bad points. I hope that the information contained in this article will motivate you to explore more about the Abaco Islands. I hope you all have a happy holiday, smiling and safe.

Machu Picchu Restaurant & Lounge in Charlotte, NC
While at Davidson Inn, in Davidson, North Carolina, we met a Peruvian employee who recommended we have a meal at her favorite restaurant called Machu Picchu on Independence Boulevard in Charlotte, about 20 miles south of the Inn. The restaurant is a little bit from the road with a large parking lot in front and a bland boxy exterior. Inside, the airy interior enhanced by lemon-colored walls, large windows side and a raised central bar with flat screen TVs. A Spanish radio station playing dance songs softly in the background contribute to the atmosphere. The only unusual feature of the restaurant's ceiling is painted black and has a number of disco lights and a glitter ball hanging from it.Having never eaten any of this type of food before, I had no expectations, but my husband did. He visited Peru in the 1990s and was looking forward to fresh seafood and lively flavors. We went in for lunch and was greeted at the door of the server who spoke Spanish - a good sign of an authentic restaurant. A short while later, Rena manager, to greet us. When she found out that it was our first visit she offered us samples of a very traditional Peruvian drink Chicha Morada made of purple corn. It looked like beet juice, but had none of the earthy flavors of the beets. Instead, it was a sweet and spicy juice with strong flavors of cinnamon and clove, it reminded me of mulled wine without alcohol. Miniscule bits of slightly crunchy floated on top. Rena said the juice was boiled with pineapple and then mixed with lime juice to give it a new kick. She added the liquid items chunks of apple. We liked Chicha so much we ordered two full-size glass ($ 2 each) for appetizers, we ordered insal the Rusa ($ 4) -. A Peruvian interpretation of Russian potato salad. It came on a chilled plate and was purple because of the beets in it. The flavors of other vegetables that included green peas, yellow corn, diced carrots and green beans were overwhelmed by the taste of the potatoes. The overall taste was OK but I would not order it again. For main dish my husband ordered the Asado Sandwich - made with beef, but instead got Sandwich de Pollo ($ 4.50) - made with chicken. The chicken was juicy, with good grilled onions on top and crisp lettuce in all on a white flour bun. It was good. I had Sudado the mariscos ($ 12) - a steamed seafood stew in a tomato broth. It came in an oversized soup bowl of green mussels, prawns, squid, fish, calamari and half a crab in its shell on top for a garnish. The octopus, tentacles still attached, was soft and delicate. Actually, all the seafood was remarkably fresh tasting as if it had caught just that morning. The tomato soup was hearty with thick chunks of yuca, slivered onions, chillies and fresh coriander. The bowl came with a large helping of white rice on a plate. It was a very nice dish - adorable Peruvian food to me - and could easily have pulled in a higher price than $ 12. By dessert time, had Machu Picchu end most of the selections on the menu. All that remained was Mazamorra Morada ($ 2.50) - a pudding made with purple corn juice, plums and pineapple. Rena said it was a very traditional dessert in Peru. It was a little sweet and tasted like the Chicha drink but with chunks of canned pineapple and prunes. Topped with a dusting of cinnamon, it was a light and refreshing dessert is perfect for a hot summer day day.Machu Picchu restaurant's excellent food made me want to visit its namesake in Peru.If this is what Peruvian food is supposed to taste then I will seek More restaurants when I get home. Next time I'm in Charlotte, I plan to go back to Machu Picchu and another shellfish dish.Located: 4715 East Independence Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28212-5303704-449-0130Sources: http://purplecorn.wordpress.com/ 2007 / 10/16/chicha-morada-magic /
