       when he had asked her what his reputation was, the girl wasn’t sure if he really didn’t know. how was she suppose to explain to him what the girls had said about him in the dressing room. they were both friends of bryce, someone she enjoyed spending time with in the past but quickly couldn’t stand anymore. justin ended up being just as bad, hannah had warned her. why would montgomery be an exception, right? but when he seemed to be annoyed at the reminder of what people thought of him and walked off, the brunette couldn’t help but to wonder if the reputations weren’t true. maybe no one really got to know him well enough to judge him. “ Monty -     “ she called out for him. jessica couldn’t help but feel something in her stomach. something knotted inside her, making her feel R E G R E T. he had been kind, this was the last thing she had wanted to cause. with a soft sigh, the girl grabbed her own back, pulled it over her shoulder and caught up to him in no time. “ you can’t tell me that you didn’t know what people say about you. besides, i didn’t say that i think the same way. ” she rushed out, before grabbing his arm in an attempt to make him stop. “ will you just listen to me!! ”

        the girl never drew her eyes away from the male, especially because not even her own guy had really asked her how she was doing, even when it was quite evident that she wasn’t doing too well. she came late to cheer practice, got benched and was a drinking mess most of the time ( not today though, yet. ) but at least, part of her found it nice to know that there was at least one person wondering. even if it was montgomery. “i’m not assuming anything.” she huffed, before collecting herself and trying not to snap as much towards him. besides, he didn’t deserve it, right? “thanks for asking though, monty.” she spoke, allowing a wash of kindness to wash over her as she shot him a brief smile, followed by her gaze dropping down to her sports bag. “I don’t think you’re lying, by the way. you just have a reputation, you know.” she chuckled briefly, nudging his hip playfully as she tried her best to keep her spirit lifted.

           a si n g l e brow cocked up, followed by a slight shake of the head. jessicaknew that the entire student body knew that she was far from sober these past few days. even under school hours! but she just wanted to forget. drown in something numbing to forget hannah’s ‘lies.’ “wow, thanks for that compliment, you fuck.” she mumbled in monotoned sarcasm as she pressed the opening of the flask back against her brims. “take some before I finish it by myself.” jessica knew that other was right about looking back and smelling like the heavy drink she was sipping on. but now being made aware of it, jessica didn’t plan on entering the school building when the bell for the first period would ring.

       jessica held the flask to her lips, not taking it away when she heard the voice of the other. rolling her eyes, it took the brunette a moment to part her lips from the drink to speak up. “ keep it down, will you? if you can, I'd be more than happy to share a few sips. ”
