According to the World Wildlife Federation, the fast fashion industry produces 53 million tons of clothing a year. It could reach 160 million tons by 2050. Chile's Atacama Desert has mountains of waste fast fashion garments because clothing recycling is less than one percent.

Fashion is the world's second most polluting industry, requiring 20,000 liters of water to produce just one kilogram of cotton thread, enough to make one T-shirt and one pair of jeans. Also, more than 8,000 chemicals are used.

These problems all contribute to the global environmental crisis, climate change, and taking advantage of workers. Although the industry has been criticized, little has been done. Consumers are demanding change.

Up to 75 percent of Gen Z according to DoSomething would like to see brands that are ensuring employee and consumer safety. Consumers are also demanding sustainability, and want to know how products are made, and if workers are being treated fairly according to McKinsey.

These are all important issues with BODY404.

An example of an environmentally innovative product line at BODY404 is the Cosmic Speculation Restart Collection Fragrance Diffusers created from recycled kitchen wastes.

"My favorite part of stay-cation is making my Jenga bagel breakfast. Whether my tower is made of avocado, tomato, or banana, it starts my day off in the best way.

When working overnight, I like my bagels filled with cream cheese and raspberries and smushed in a bagel guillotine. The bakery near my apartment serves an entire table of fresh bagels in the morning. Even though I've gained a significant amount of weight, I couldn't possibly complain. It's impossible to hate a bagel, especially a perfectly baked one! Every time I've smelled a bagel, I knew my carbless diet was done for."

The TARGET 80 is the latest kit by VAPORESSO, a company that has become quite popular for making some of the best vapes in various categories. Unlike their recent products which have been pods and AIOs for the most part, the TARGET 80 is a fully-fledged box mod compatible with other atomizers. It uses an internal battery rated at 3000 mAh, a large color screen, a fully capable chipset, and a tank that has a 5 mL capacity.

The included tank is the GTX 26 pod tank, which is the same atomizer they used in their LUXE 80 kit. It uses the GTX platform coils and the only difference here is that on the TARGET kit it comes with an adapter that allows it to be used on any device with a 510 connection. Since I have already reviewed this tank, I won’t be going over it again—but you can find all the info you need in the LUXE 80 review.

The TARGET 80 is a very small mod and pocketable mod with an internal battery. It stands at 130.9 mm x 38.3 mm x 30.8 mm and it’s got enough weight to feel solid and well-built without feeling too heavy. I received the red version—the other color options are black, green, grey, and blue. They all have the same “satin gunmetal” frame with the only difference between them being the color of the textured panel.

While it’s not a rugged mod it is pretty sturdy thanks to what VAPORESSO calls a “full cage” design—which basically is just a sturdy frame fitted around the mod. They also all have a copperish/reddish platform under the 510 with a hook that comes out for a lanyard.

On the front of the device, you have the 0.96-inch color TFT screen which is bright and easy to see. The screen is excellent on this device. On the two sides, you have your colored panels. Branding is very simple with a “VAPORESSO” on the back engraved into the frame in matching color. All in all, it’s a really good-looking mod with plenty of color options and nice design features to it.

The Aspire AVP is a pod system with adjustable wattage in three levels. It is compact, relatively lightweight, and ships with two 2 mL pods in the box. This is Aspire’s fourth product of this style, although the other three – the two Breezes and the Nautilus AIO – had replaceable coils, which gave them the “AIO” title.

The AVP is one of the best-constructed pod vapes I’ve even used. It is not a heavy vape, but it is heavy enough for its size to feel of high quality and premium. At 73 grams it is a tad lighter than the SMOK Nord, but heavier than the Innokin EQ and the SMOK Novo, two pod vapes that are more or less its size. The front and back of the AVP are carbon fiber-styled and the pod is kept in place by two strong magnets, giving a satisfying feeling when inserted on the battery. Excellent work by Aspire on the build quality front.

The branding is discreet (small font Aspire on the one side, AVP on the other) and the device ships with a nicely designed lanyard that will prevent it from spending the night between the sofa pillows — and you from spending the whole morning checking drawers and pockets. Just note that it takes some time to put the lanyard on, as it has to be secured under a clip that’s hidden at the corner of the battery’s opening.

First fill the pod through the push-to-fill hole that’s at its bottom. Then connect it with the battery and let it saturate for five minutes. Turn the battery on by clicking on the small button five times. The Aspire AVP is draw-activated, so you just have to inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.

If you want to scroll through the three power settings, just press the button two times. Every time you do that the power setting will change and the LED will flash between three colors. Red means that it is operating at the low power setting (8 watts), blue is medium (10 watts) and green is high (12 watts). Not sure why they didn’t go the other way around with the colors (most devices use red for their high setting) but I guess that’s subjective.

The Voopoo Argus GT Kit is the latest Kit from popular manufacturer Voopoo. They gained huge popularity with their first mod, the Drag, for its great value as far as price, performance, and durability goes. Since then, it’s been a slow downhill climb for them with some products being solid, but many being subpar. So, we’ll see if the Argus GT can be the start of them making good products again.

This kit includes the Argus GT mod, which is a dual-18650 mod rated at 160 watts, and the PnP Pod tank which is a pod that uses an adapter to function like a normal sub ohm tank. It takes their standard PnP coils which have been used on many devices of theirs recently, like the Vinci series and the Argus Air Pod.

After reviewing nothing but pods for quite a while, I am happy to see that mod and tank kits started reappearing on the market. When I got the Argus, my first thought was that it’s good that Voopoo isn’t still milking the Drag line over and over. In fact, the Argus GT mod kinda goes in the opposite direction of the Drag. While the Drag mods have been heavy and boxy, the Argus is lightweight and has a more ergonomic shape that makes it feels great in the hand.

Instead of their typical resin panels, the Voopoo Argus GT takes after the Geekvape Aegis line of mods. It comes with an outliner frame and a leather or fabric wrapped backing which feels and looks great. The mod is paired with the PnP Pod tank, which is designed to be beginner friendly. It’s a refillable pod with the rubber plug and all, but instead of going on a pod device, it goes on an adapter which gives it a 510 connection and makes it usable on every mod. I thought the name would be a gimmick to go after the popularity of pods, but it’s not. It’s truly a hybrid between a pod and a tank, which I thought was a good idea.

The Argus GT is a nicely built mod. It looks tactical like the Geekvape Aegis line of mods, but it isn’t IP67-rated. They even list it as “military packaging design” which essentially means that it looks a lot more rugged and tactical then it actually is. In the hand, it feels solid and not cheap or flimsy. But at 105 grams (197 grams with two 18650 batteries in) it is not heavy at all.

The fire button is a basic rectangle with an indentation, and it is placed at the front of the mod above the screen. Below the screen are the up and down buttons and on the side behind a rubber plug is the USB-C port. It features a large color screen that’s easy to see and clear and very bright. Much nicer than the ones we have seen on the Drag line lately. I didn’t see a size listed, but it’s likely a 0.96-inch screen.

For a dual-18650 mod, it’s pretty small and about the same size as the Drag 2. The 510 pin is great and gave me no issues with any atomizer. The mod is listed at 26 mm wide, but with the 510 being off center and towards the back, the 26 mm included tank has some very slight overhang on it. A 24 mm diameter atomizer will sit flush on it. The tank does look good on it so no complaints there; but it may bother others more than it bothered me.

The Geekvape Aegis Boost is the first AIO by popular manufacturer Geekvape, and the second pod style vape after the Bident. Geekvape started by making some of the best rebuildables out there, and then went on to make mods and made some of the best ones as well. They also produced one of the best sub ohm tanks in the Alpha so, in short, yeah… Geekvape has been killing it. Now they have not only started doing pod-based devices, but they are using the popular Aegis line in the design which is a nice move. I’ve always loved the looks and ruggedness of the Aegis line.

The Geekvape Aegis Boost is a fully adjustable AIO rated for 40 watts, and uses a built-in battery rated at 1500 mAh. The pods hold a solid 3.7 mL of juice and take three types of coils; a 0.6-ohm coil, a 0.4-ohm coil, and an RBA deck that’s sold separately. The pods are obviously refillable and the coils are replaceable, so there’s less waste and lower costs for the user.

The Geekvape Aegis Boost is pretty large for a pod style vape. It’s only a little smaller than the Aegis Mini but I was surprised by how little it weighs. They list it at 120 grams, but I weighed it full of juice with a coil installed and got 113.4 grams. The device itself without a pod in it is only 93.7 grams. It stands approximately 106.8 mm x 27.7 mm x 39.2 mm.

The Boost feels great in the hand with its ergonomic shape and rubberized finish and, same as the rest of the Aegis line, it is rugged and IP67 rated for dust and water-resistance. You won’t find a tougher pod system out there. It features the standard Aegis color frame accent and the leather backing. Build quality is top notch but that’s not surprising. If you haven’t used an Aegis device before, you are missing out quite a bit.

The Caliburn is the first ever pod vape by Uwell. Best known for their sub ohm tanks, and more recently vape pens, Uwell has just added a pod system to their line-up. It utilizes 2 mL refillable pods containing 1.4-ohm parallel coils and a top filling system.

The Caliburn has a dual firing system, so it’s draw-activated, but the button also functions as a firing button. Every time I let my friends test out one of my new vapes, they are never sure whether they have to push a button or not. I made a joke to one of my friends that it’s “designed for people like him”. This is a nifty little feature that we don’t see very often – the only other devices that come to mind are the original Aspire Breeze and Innokin DV.

The Uwell Caliburn is significantly larger than the JUUL and slightly shorter than the Infinix. It’s also taller than the SMOK Nord, but narrower and thinner. It stands at 110 mm tall, 21.2 mm wide and 11.6 mm thick. The device strikes me as something in-between a pod vape and a vape pen in size. It has a solid feel, but I wish it had a bit more grip to it. It has slipped out of my hands a number of times in just the past week.

The device is constructed of aluminum alloy and is relatively lightweight yet sturdy. It weighs about 34 grams with a full pod and 25 grams without a pod. The device feels well-constructed, and has even survived a few accidental drops.

SMOK (also known as Smoktech) is the flagship brand of Shenzhen IVPS Technology Corporation Ltd. (called IVPS for short). One of the oldest and most progressive companies in vaping, SMOK has a reputation for pushing the envelope. While many current vapers are familiar with their popular TFV4 sub ohm tank, they have been broadening vaping’s horizons well before that product’s release. From being one of the first companies to use dual coils, implementing Bluetooth technology into vaping devices, and raising the bar for cloud production in sub ohm tanks, SMOK has been a trailblazer.

Over the years, Smok has established a track record of offering reasonable quality at low prices. Beyond that, it has also started some noteworthy trends. When you ask many enthusiast vapers about SMOK, the first thing they think of is big clouds. This is thanks to the TFV4 tank. Prior to this, vapor production was almost exclusively the domain of rebuildable dripping atomizers (RDAs). That the company was able to make its sub ohm tanks synonymous with cloud chasing is a truly noteworthy accomplishment.

The company’s mods have often been experimental. For many vapers, SMOK devices had many firsts. From telescoping tube mods to wood box mods to box mods that can be controlled via Bluetooth, it has broadened the horizons of vaping devices. Its research & development team has created several twists that have influenced the entire vaping scene, whether it be LED lights, touch screens, duodenary coils, etc. While many of its competitors have tried to imitate its designs and technology, vapers were first able to enjoy them on Smok devices.

I was about to introduce the all-new PAL 3 pod kit as the latest instalment of the PAL line. Powered a 1000mah built-in battery, the Artery PAL 3 features an adjustable wattage of 2 - 25W. Constructed of zinc alloy, stainless steel and PCTG, it comes in a smaller size than PAL 2. It features an ergonomic mouthpiece design and upgraded HP cores to provide a better vaping experience. It also boasts a tuned airflow system for RDL/ MTL vaping.

The Pal 3 is a compact and well-built pod kit. It delivers a really good impression on the hand thanks to its smoothed off edges. In the previous versions, you need to remove the panel to check the e-liquid level. The new Pal 3 adds convenience without the removable panel. It comes with a very modern and elegant look with plentiful colour options. It comes with a zinc alloy and stainless steel construction that feels a little weighty. It features a pearl finish, which is fingerprint resistant and provides a comfortable hand-feel. There is also a gold control panel that is a big fingerprint magnet.

The screen on the Pal 3 is very tiny but bright and easy to read. It clearly displays all the vaping info you will need, such as the wattage, voltage, coil resistance, battery level. The branding is subtle and well-positioned. There is a fire button and a wattage adjustment button. Both of them are very nice to click. You can press the fire button 5 times to turn the device on/ off and press the fire button 3 times to lock/ unlock the wattage adjustment. On the backside of the device, there is a well placed USB-C port, which comes with only a 1amp charging rate. It takes about one hour to fully charge the 1000mAh battery from low.

The RELX Infinity is a beginner vape that takes prefilled pods. The RELX Pod Pro pods hold 1.9 mL of juice and come in a variety of flavors and nicotine strengths. But that’s not all. The Infinity features a dual-charging system, allowing it to be charged on the go with the use of one of the two charging cases (sold separately), and has won the 2020 Red Dot award for product design.

The RELX infinity measures at 112 mm x 23 mm x 10 mm and weighs in at around 25 grams with a full pod on. It is very similar in size and weight to RELX’s previous offering, the RELX Classic, but it feels better in the hand due to the more rounded design. Overall, it is a very practical and lightweight vape that can easily fit in your pocket and you’ll forget it is there.

What I really liked on the Infinity is the shape of the mouthpiece. I was a bit skeptical at first as I thought that the Classic came with a more ergonomic mouthpiece shape, but it soon grew on me. The fact that it’s flat makes it very comfortable on the lips. Talking about the pods, my one complaint is that they do wiggle a bit when placed in the battery. They will rattle if you move the battery, but the magnets are strong and I haven’t had a pod accidentally pop out.

RELX incorporated a vibrating mechanism on the Infinity and, while I thought it was a bit gimmicky at first, it does help with user experience. The gimmicky part is the vibration when you insert the pod in the battery. But it will also vibrate when you hit it 15 times inside a 15-minute period, which is a useful feature for those who want to monitor their consumption. Finally, there is a dotted circle made out of LED lights up front, which will light up every time you inhale and also serve as a battery indicator (more on that later on). I wish they took advantage of the tiny dots and used them as a stepped battery indicator, but I guess that would have been a bit complicated from a tech perspective.

All in all, I am not surprised that the Infinity won the Red Dot award. It is a well-made and classy looking vape with some interesting and well-executed design ideas.

The original Geekvape Aegis was released on a wave of hype following its announcement.  Not surprising, given that its intriguing design and noteworthy features definitely stood out among the typical, plastic, rectangular mods.  Geekvape appears to have gone all out with the marketing concept of focusing on a product's "unique selling point"--not a bad idea given the exponentially growing number of vape mods on the market today.  

At a glance, it's not difficult to identify the intended niche of the Geekvape Aegis.  As the name suggests, the Aegis is meant for heavy duty use in harsh environments.  The Aegis boasts a military grade rating 810G-516.6 for resistance to shock and a IP rating of IP67 for resistance to dust and water to back those marketing claims.

There are two major features that will probably grab most people's attention--the firing button on the front and the rounded grip on the back.  

I have to say, I was a little disappointed that the firing button functioned in a completely normal fashion--I was really hoping that it would pivot in the middle of the button, like a rocker switch, given the similarity in appearance.  But the shape actually does improve the ease of use, so that's not something I'd really offer as valid criticism (although perhaps it'd do as a suggestion to Geekvape's future incarnations).  

At least the grip on the backside is as wonderful as it looks, and it comes in several varieties.  I ordered the very handsome option with black leather with red threading (from EightVape! Highly recommended when ordering hardware by the way, unless you don't mind crossing your fingers for months while your device slowly and haphazardly makes its way back to China in case you decide on a return or exchange).  In addition to boosting the grip-ability, it certainly adds a unexpectedly luxurious feel to a very utilitarian device.  More companies should take note of this design feature.  

The tactile experience of vaping with the Aegis can be easily covered in a single word: SOLID.  Even with all the hype and conspicuous design choices, in hand, the glorious feeling of holding a well-crafted, bomb-proof, amalgam of metal, leather and silicon machinery, still manages to impress.

The new products are the vital part of the launch, and VOOPOO reveals 3 Pod products this time, including two V series products, VMATE E and VMATE Infinity Edition. These two products are equipped with a newly upgraded cartridge, with 5A freshness-seal technology to lock the fresh taste and fragrance of e-liquid, and the use of a special Fresnel lens texture design on the cartridge, effectively reducing the exposure of light to the e-liquid, striking the user with the fresh taste experience. Silver ions were specially added to the cartridge, and the effective anti-bacteria rate is above 99%.

Drag Q has been released with the new infinite appearance again. For years, scientists have been exploring how to fully unlock the full potential of vaping flavor.

Dr. Yu Zhou, a scientist from SMOORE Lab, said, “We’ve collected and tested thousands of liquids from the market just to discover how vaping devices can deliver the best flavor. We’ve come to some interesting conclusions from our research, but most importantly, we can say that Flavor is the art of temperature.”

Dr. Zhou has been working for years for SMOORE’s sub-brand, VAPORESSO, to continuously improve temperature control and its products’ flavor delivery. “All vape devices from the beginning of vaping til now share the same basic heating mechanism. This includes some kind of storage for the e-liquid, a heating coil and a wick. When you heat up the coil in a device, the heat will vaporize the e-liquid from the wick, delivering it to the user. Typically the range that users tend to vape at exists anywhere from 100°C - 315°C. But at the lower end of this range the vapor and subsequent flavor is pretty weak, and at the higher end puffs are harsh and the flavor can degrade from the PG breaking down into formaldehyde.”

Dr. Zhou continued. “There exists a smaller temperature range in between these extremes- the ‘sweet spot’ if you may- in which users will experience ideal flavor delivery that is strong, and gives an accurate representation of the e-liquid’s flavor profile while remaining smooth. After thousands of tests with thousands of flavors from different manufacturers, we found that the zone of best flavor expression exists between 200°-260° C, depending on the juice.”

“With the recently developed COREX technology, we hope to solve the problem of inconsistent heating and flavor delivery. Using a new MORPH-Mesh coil design with a greater surface area for heating, a larger ratio of the coil can reach the optimum flavor delivery temperature. For users, this translates to bigger, more flavorful clouds.”

Smoant has made some popular mid-range mods in the past with the Battlestar and Charon. However, it’s been a while since we have seen we have seen anything new.

Enter the timely release of the Smoant Cylon 218, an altogether more premium looking dual 18650 device, which not only features an eye-catching design but an updated chip, a gorgeous 1.3-inch TFT color screen, and extra customization options.

Smoant definitely made an excellent choice here, and they have tried to back up the display with the inclusion of different screen layouts and some funky wallpapers. That being said none are really to my liking to display on my mod (not even the happy Labrador, unfortunately) but with the latest firmware release version 3.08 it seems you can actually customize your own – not something I tried.

Smoant was one of the first major vape mod manufacturers to jump on the pod system bandwagon, and they’ve actually seen some success with devices like the Smoant S8 and Smoant Karat. But instead of simply riding the wave and putting out new designs of basically the same functionality, the Chinese manufacturer decided to change the game and create the world’s first rebuildable pod system. The Smoant Pasito uses coil-heads instead of disposable pods and even be used with an RBA base. That’s unheard of for pod systems, so it’s no wonder everyone is talking about it.

A Look at the Contents

The Smoant Pasito has the nicest packaging I’ve seen in a long time. It looks pretty ordinary on the outside – a white flip-top box with a picture of the pod system on the front, and a list of kit contents and manufacturer information on the back. But the inside is pretty cool. Flip the lid open and you’re greeted with a simple but thoughtful ‘Have a good day’ message on the left and a second, window-style lid painted in the same artistic pattern as the Pasito mod.  Open that one up and you’ll notice that the user manual is actually printed on the inside of those cardboard windows, which is kind of cool, as this way you can never misplace it.Inside the box, we have the assembled Smoant Pasito placed in a Styrofoam holder, right next to an accessories box containing  USB Type-C charging cable and the two coil-heads included – one 0.6Ω coil-head for direct-lung vaping and a 1.4Ω one for mouth-to-lung. That’s pretty much all you get. If you want to try the RBA base everyone’s talking about, you’ll have to buy it separately.

The Smoant Pasito is generating a lot of hype in the vaping world right now, and for good reason. It introduces new concepts we haven’t seen in the pod system sector before, such as replaceable coil-heads, an optional RBA base, and amazing battery life. Smoant definitely needs some praise for trying to shake things up in an industry that for the most part has been riding the success of the JUUL without implementing any serious innovative ideas. That said, it still has a lot of work to do to achieve its goal of creating an all-in-one device that works for all styles of vaping.

Mouth-to-lung vaping is very hard to pull off with the Pasito, especially of you like that restrictive, cigarette-like draw, the airflow system is kind of clunky, the optional RBA base isn’t worth the hassle in my opinion and the power button makes is awkwardly positioned. Neither of these are deal-breaking issues, but you should definitely be aware of them before buying this device.
