Yeah, this pretty much sums up one of the biggest reasons why the KNY fandom has such bad media literacy. Especially in regards to Zenitsu.

just saw someone saying that season 1 Zenitsu would've drank Kokushibo's blood with no hesitation and I think media literacy is dead actually

(keep in mind that this is the same guy who TOOK A WHOLE BEATING protecting a box that he knew housed a demon, just because the box was important to Tanjiro. "would drink Kokushibo's blood" my ass.)

If someone thinks Zenitsu would have at ANY point ever taken Kokushibo's blood then they haven't been paying attention. Because that's what makes him and Kaigaku different. They're foils, but are very different people at their core.

Zenitsu is scared. He's anxious. But he's also very loyal and cares about people. He protected Nezuko's box simply because Tanjiro said it was important to him. Despite how scared he was, he refused to abandon Shoichi in Tsuzumi Mansion (and in fact told Shoichi to abandon him). He never would have taken Kokushibo's blood because he loves Jigoro too much. It's as simple as that. Zenitsu would have just taken the L.

Since I got back into Demon Slayer after the new movie I can't help myself keep thinking about Mitsuri and Zenitsu and how similar they are.

Because while Mitsuri, even with her insecurities, her "crybaby personality" even with she "hated" her looks and inhumane strength got people to have her back. Mitsuri had loving parents, brothers, friends and people who could accept and understand her situation, people who endured with her, people who were kind with her regardless of all of that.

Zenitsu on the other hand is still tormented by his Insecurities, his hate for himself, and unlike Mitsuri Zenitsu is unable to see his own strength. Gramps was the first person who was ever kind to Zenitsu, Zenitsu is an orphan, do we really even know how old he was when Gramps helped him?

Gramps was the first person who ever loved him, and even when he was with him he still was bullied and taunted by Kaigaku. Tanjiro and Inosuke were probably his first friends, Tanjiro saying he's a gentle person was probably the first time someone that isn't Gramps ever complimented him.

Anyways, Mitsuri and Zenitsu are stupidly similar to me, Mitsuri is who Zenitsu could be if he was in a best environment, and Zenitsu is who Mitsuri could have if she didn't had a good support and people who love her and I can't stop thinking of how much I needed Mitsuri to identify that on Zenitsu and give him a hug they both need
