Your hand brushes against mine, soft
A tingle - sent straight to my spine, shiver
You push up against me and I can hardly breathe
Eager to take you in, eager to feel your body pressed against mine
Do you feel it?
Our tension?
It only happens in my dreams
But somehow that makes me want you all the more in real life
Am I crazy to have this feeling too?
To push this down for the sake of our loved ones?
For your - expected love one
I wonder if in another life we were lovers, best friends, and in this life -
My paramour
I know our plans, I know our duties
And I’m content to stick to them
But a dot of curiosity begins to fill my page
I will brush you off, like an eraser shaving on a blank slate
But each evening alone I become more befuddled
I’ll notice how you make me laugh
How you make me feel warm
Our chemistry filling like a soft porn
And I’ll wonder - if in some life you were meant to be mine
But alas - that’s all this is
A wonder, a curiosity, of what could’ve been
