 San Pedro de Atacama, Chile is one of the greatest places I have ever visited. Edwards was quoted as saying, "I am very disappointed with the support of Senator Clinton for the Peru trade agreement." He accused Clinton of supporting corporate interests, lobbyists, and President Bush and ignoring the needs of millions of American workers. The Peru trade agreement was signed in April 2006 and was the subject of criticism from environmentalists and human rights workers. For example, a joint statement issued by the Friends of the Earth and the Sierra Club agreement was criticized for not doing enough to develop a set of trade policies that would achieve progress towards environmental sustainability . The press has praised aspects of the agreement if, as a measure to curb illegal timber trade and reduce rates of deforestation in Peru.
