Erwin could no longer argue with his court of advisors, or any other person that bothered to comment; it was time he married. 

His kingdom was vast and powerful, left to his care when his father passed when he was barely more than a child. He’d spent his adolescence mastering the arts of politics, war, and diplomacy, while his peers were allowed to indulge in their youth doing things young men ought to do while they have the energy.

 He was still not quite yet a man by the time of his coronation, only 24 years old when he swore his fealty to his people and to the gods. The weight of his crown was overwhelming, but he did not buckle. 

Within the following decade, his sacrifices had proven worthwhile and resulted in a kingdom that was more secure and prosperous than any of his forefathers had managed. It was a feat to accomplish, but it took absolutely everything within him to maintain. Which was why he did not want to be distracted with the prospects of keeping a wife.
