City Winter - Scott Uminga

Hello to all my Fans, Followers, Fellow Artists, Friends and Family.

The year started off slow but by the second half something in my head clicked and I just wanted to make stuff for myself again. I revisited older unfinished files and decided to give them a second life with my new skills and techniques. I have to remember to give myself time in between projects to allow for just experimentation.

2 influential professors of mine have retired this year and I did feel a sense of anxiety and loss because of it. But I know they’d be proud and would want me to carry a flame of creativity in my journey. I found a lovely group of artists for life drawing. And I hope to improve my transition from traditional drawing mediums to Procreate. 

As always send kind words and cool vibes whenever you have an urge. And although I may not be able to answer, deep down those lovely remarks still move me. Remember to go at your own pace. And cherish those who make you feel like you. 

I want to thank everyone who believes in my work and felt inspiration from my pieces. A big thankyou to all the people who've commissioned me this year and in the past. And for having trust in my artistry and creative decisions.

Revisiting an older piece, I made in 2017 that was unfinished, but I feel more confident redoing the composition and keeping elements from it as a background.

I think having these beautiful imperfections might be a future motif.

Art vs Artist 2025 - Scott Uminga - Has it been already 10 years? Reflecting on my past posts always gives me comfort and confidence. It's incredible to view my own artistic growth through this lens. And how the influences and values I had in creating pieces have changed or stayed the same. I hope you all enjoyed my art and are able to see me as inspiration for your own endeavors.
