Roy just needed to know that she'd keep that gun to the back of his head and pull the trigger if he so much as stepped too out of line. It was more important now than ever, this thirst had slowly become maddening. Every so often, he'd catch himself leaning into it and reel it back in hard.

A smile came to his face, soft and warm, as warm as he was now. Radiating heat like a controlled fire underneath his skin. That's what it felt like sometimes, Furey had caught onto it once. The Sargent, reasonably worried, tried to go to Riza once about it, concerned he had a fever of sorts but it had thankfully been dropped and he preferred it that way.

Riza reassures as they move to follow him into her building. Approaching the stairs she pauses for a moment, a hand lifting to cover her mouth to stifle a small yawn. With the small walk, fresh air, the weight lifting from her chest and knowing she wouldn't be alone, perhaps she would get some sleep tonight. Not just sleep, good sleep.

Taking the first few steps up to the next floor, she gently shrugged as he questioned why he would possibly say no to her. There were a hundred reasons he could have said no to her, but the most obvious was that it could be viewed as.. inappropriate. What CO would possibly agree to staying the night with his adjutant in her apartment?

Then again... they weren't exactly the average commanding officer and aide. Though there were very few who knew that.

"I suppose it's foolish of me to be so surprised, isn't it?" She replied softly, gently shaking her head at herself. "I guess I had spent all this time convincing myself that once you knew the truth everything was going to change for the worst. And now that it hasn't, I need to actually accept that it hasn't, if that makes sense." It at least made sense to her. Making their up to the third floor, Riza finally came to a stop at her door and carefully fished her keys from her pocket. His reassurance echoed about her and she let herself smile softly before carefully opening the door.

"I know you will be. You.. You have never abandoned me, I should truly know better than that by now."
