gramercy garden

the smells that filled haru’s nose as she stepped into her apartment were a surprise to say the least. she was almost sure moon was visiting minjae this evening and that she’d be alone. hearing the clanging of cutlery, she slipped off her shoes with ease and rounded the corner of the hallway into the open plan apartment to see her boyfriend fumbling around the kitchen. a warm smile immediately appeared on her face as she walked over to him, both arms reaching out for an affectionate embrace. “ what are you doing here? i thought you were busy tonight. ”

taehee couldn’t help but smile, as she stroked his cheek, taking a hold of his shoulder with her free hand. his mumbly voice, his sleepy demeanour, everything about him was nothing but adorable and it was dean at his most vulnerable, real and human moments that had made her fall in love with him in the first place; not the glitter that surrounded the rest of his life. “i’m back, babe, it’s me.” she chuckles, bowing her head, ready to make eye contact with him when he opened his eyes. “i’m right here, come on... let’s get into bed together and you can sleep properly.” she was still smiling, the fact that he was whining about the bed being uncomfortable without her ... it was almost unbelievable and somewhat cheesy but everything about his words made the back of her neck rise with head, exhilaration running through her veins. she loved him, she knew it. she really, really loved him. 

sneaking into the apartment as quietly as she could, taehee’s eyes were glancing from left to right in order to avoid being spotted. she held onto the wall with one hand, pulling her shoes off almost silently, before creeping into the main living area. it was dark, the only glow of light was from the television. she could see the back of the other’s head, resting against the couch at an angle, she was sure they were asleep or at least dozing. she’d been away on a trip for work but had ended up returning a day early so she’d decided to surprise the other. rounding the couch, she smiled to herself, her own head cocking to the side as she caught sight of how cute the other looked having fallen asleep in a rather unnatural and seemingly uncomfortable position. crouching down in front of them, cupping their cheek in her hand, she moved her face closer to them in order to rouse them gently from their sleep. “ you should sleep in your bed, ” she whispers, the pad of her thumb stroking at their cheek. 

「 하루 」 → haru didn’t particularly want to be held right now. she wanted to throw things, she wanted to scream, she wanted to be the epitome of chaos but she couldn’t help but feel immediately comforted by kane’s arms around her; the man that she adored with everything in her focusing his attention on her, silently reassuring her. she allows the whines of her cries to leave her mouth, arms wrapping around his neck, fingertips squeezing tightly onto the fabric of his shirt, her head pressing itself into his neck, the familiar faint scent of his aftershave still lingering against his skin. her body is in vibrate mode, the noises slowly increasing in decibels, her body shaking as she tried to regain some kind of control over her breathing. she pulls her face back to look at him, shaking her head slightly, the feeling of guilt, disappointment and frustration running through her again. ❛ it’s too hard, minnie. ❜ she croaks. ❛ i’m not good anymore. ❜

「 하루 」 → it wasn’t like haru to be so clumsy; to be so forgetful. being called out more than twice in one class rarely happened to her, she was good at what she did; one of the best even & she knew that. why were her ankles giving way yet again? she’d practised the entire day before without a hitch. why now? her head had been spinning for the remainder of the day in frustration, not only at her lack of precision but also due to the dull ache that had begun to return in her newly repaired ankle. this was not the time for it to be hurting again. the doctor had said it had fully healed? why was she aching? she hadn’t been skipping stretches, she’d been wearing casts just as she was supposed to. the morning’s events seemed to have domino’ed throughout the day and as she pushes through the front door, tears begin to prick at her inner tear ducts, the sensation of being home overwhelming her. ignoring the calls of the people in the house asking if she had returned, she jogged up the stairs, singular tears beginning to drop from her eyelashes as she pushes her way into her bedroom, dropping her things on the rug. she throws herself down on her soft duvet in frustration & hands instinctively come to cover her face as she allows the tears to fall.

「 서준 」 → seojun eyed the other’s appearance, trying so hard to prevent even a hint of a smile forming on his face. taking a step over, seojun reached out to adjust holden’s jacket before letting go, obviously eyeing his frame up and down. ❛ hm, you look sufficient enough. let’s go. ❜

「 서준 」 →  ❛ are you nearly ready? ❜ seojun bites down on his lower lip, checking out his appearance one more time, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt through his dinner jacket. ❛ we’re going to be late if you don’t hurry your ass up. ❜

「 서준 」 → seojun allowed clyde to speak, his eyes focused on the other’s face. it had been a while since he’d seen him, though it was like nothing had changed. he looked exactly the same. his heart felt heavy as clyde began to speak; seojun wasn’t really sure where this was  going but the comfort mixed with apprehension he was feeling by being in clyde’s presence was something he was adjusting to. running one hand through his hair, he shakes his head slightly once more. ❛ being honest about how you feel is hard sometimes, i get it. i just wish we hadn’t left things like we did. ❜ he licks his lips as he looks at the other. ❛ i’m glad you came over. i was going to text you soon but every time i tried before, i wasn’t really sure what to say. ❜

「 태희 」 → taehee, in fits of giggles, lies face down on the floor, her nose pressing against the carpet as she snorts, unable to control her breathing. turning her head to the side to look over at eunha, her eyes begin to water as she pulls herself up slightly. ❛ i’m definitely the sexiest girl you know. the most flexible and all. ❜

「 동우 」 → he knew those hands, he knew them ever so well. fuck. it was already certain with his decision to join his friends at the club that he was in trouble, but with the passive aggressive words that were coming from eunha’s lips, dongwoo knew he’d been caught. keeping his cool, his eyes glance down at his girlfriend, his hands immediately snaking around her waist, squeezing her body as he presses a kiss to her lips. ❛ i was just saying to manse that her shoes make her look short, that’s all. ❜ he lies with ease, one hand coming to push her hair out of her face. ❛ what are you doing here? ❜

「 서준 」 → ❛ you’re not bothering me. ❜ seojun replies, turning on the lamps in the lounge area, gesturing for clyde to sit down & make himself comfortable. he grabs blankets for them both as he settles down too, wrapping his bare arms which were now covered in goosebumps due to the breeze as he looks over at the other. sure, the timing was a little off ( seojun was rather enjoying the dream he was having ) but the truth was, he’d been thinking of messaging clyde to talk too. it was just a matter of when and where so the fact he’d turned up on his doorstep was somewhat comforting to seojun. he was thinking of him too. 

「 동우 」 → dongwoo knew that the sensible thing for hana was not to be drinking, but he wasn’t here to baby her. he knew she was here to forget and he was more than happy to help. he lets go over her frame, padding over to his kitchen and opening up the alcohol cupboard, pulling out a couple of shot glasses and normal cups for mixing drinks, before pouring them both a shot of vodka. he nudges the glass toward her as he leans against the counter, pressing his between his lips, allowing the drink to run down his throat with ease. ❛ come on baby, catch up. ❜
