FAQ
What is the SCKC?
The Sims Canine Kennel Club is a Sims 4 RP-based kennel club. We are dedicated to Instagram kennels, with an aim toward simplicity while still following some realism.
Which breed standard does the SCKC follow?
The SCKC allows both AKC and UKC standards for simplicity. This applies to conformation shows, off standard dogs will not be docked for agility & other shows.
How do I get started?
Follow our “Getting Started” post under the Info tab!
How are shows judged?
Shows are judged based on a combination of breed standards and a little bit of randomized outcomes. You can find a more detailed breakdown under the “Points Breakdown” post.
Getting Started!
Getting started is easy! Here is a simple guide for new kennel owners.
1. Create an instagram. Usually, kennel owners name their instagram after their kennel! Go ahead and set up your profile like normal. You can also create a prefix and suffix for your kennel. You place these either before or after your dog’s registered name, to show they belong to your kennel. (ex. “Vale’s” or “Of Magnolia’s Vale”.)
2. Now go ahead and create your dogs! EA made dogs are allowed, but note that most of them do not fall under the AKC or UKC standards. Dogs made by other people (i.e. dogs from the gallery, or downloaded from a resource site) are not permitted.
3. Register your kennel and dogs. Under the “Dog Registry” tab, you can find the forms to officially register your dogs and kennels. Please fill out one form for each dog. A staff member will DM you your dog’s registration number ASAP.
4. Enter your dogs in events! Finally, you’re ready to start competing. For more information on our events, please look toward the “Info” tab.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to staff or DM us directly @ SCKCTS4 on Instagram.
Register your litters
The SCKC requires any litters coming from dogs within the SCKC to be registered. With this, staff are able to: keep track of dog lineage, keep track of points being passed down between generations, as well as post announcements on our Instagram.
Private litters that will not be open for the public to reserve still need to be registered.
Litters must be registered before the puppies are born.
If you’d like, you may include your own picture of the parents to be posted on the Instagram. Simply include it in the form!
Register your litters here! Please allow staff 1 - 2 weeks to post your litter announcement on our Instagram.

Co-founder — She/her
Since she was little, Reneé has always felt an enormous curiosity about everything that involved dogs. She even learned to read from a book that detailed all the recognized breeds of dogs in the world; she supposes that dictated her path. Reneé finished her Veterinary Medicine degree at the age of twenty-four, and continued with specializations in cynological studies, genetics and reproduction, and dog training. It was when Margot, a beauty line Australian Shepherd, came into her life that she decided to found her own dog kennel.

Kaia’s passion for dogs is entangled in her entire life, starting when she was only a child. Inheriting her grandparents kennel, Magnolia’s Vale, Kaia reopened its doors officially in 2016. Kaia runs the kennel alongside her girlfriend, Fenna. Together, the two have carved a name for themselves as specialists of Euro Dobermans, GSD, and Border Collies.

Titles Breakdown
Titles earned are determined by the amount of points a dog has accumulated in each show type. Points do not carry over to other trials. (EX. points earned in agility will not count toward conformation points.)
Below is a breakdown of all titles, for all categories, and how many points it takes to earn each title. All titles are prefixes unless stated otherwise.

Generators (for staff)
Roll for each dog in show that is qualified. Each entry may only be rolled once in their appropriate tier. What tier a dog falls under is up to the judge(s) of that show.
(Tier 1) Dogs who somewhat meet breed standards can roll for: Was dog focused during show/trial? +2 if yes. +1 if no.
(Tier 2) Roll for dogs who closely meet their breed standard: Was dog well groomed, and also show good behavior? +3 if yes. +2 if no.
(Tier 3) Roll twice for dogs in this tier, once for temperament, and again to see if the dogs impressed the judges/audience: Did the dog impress judges and catch the audience's attention? +4 if both are yes. +3 if one or both are no.
(Tier 4) Roll once for dogs in this tier. Dogs must meet breed standard exact to qualify. Try to limit how many dogs qualify for this tier, it's supposed to be hard to achieve! Did dog excel in show, and meet breed standards exactly? +5 if yes. +4 if no. i’m
Points Breakdown
The SCKC has a relatively simply point system. Points are earned in shows and trials per individual dog. The points your dogs earn are totaled together, and overtime, will add up to titles. Note that not all dogs will earn points in their shows, specifically off-standard dogs.
For each show and trial, your dog has the potential to earn up to 5 points. If a show or trial does not have enough participants, all entries will be given +1 point for participation.
Based on variety of different scenarios, dogs will be entered into one of three tiers of random generators. The generator will determine how well your dog performed, and in turn, how many points they will earn. Below is a breakdown of how points are earned.
+0 points for off-standard / non-qualifying dogs. This applies to conformation only, off-standard dogs will not be docked for other shows. Dogs in agility & other shows can be awarded 0 points for non-qualifying photos.
+1 points for dogs who meet the breed standard, but did not earn any points via the generators.
+2 points for a dog staying focused during the trial (randomized).
+3 points for a well-groomed, well behaved dog. Dogs must match breed standard closely to be eligible for their tier of the generator.
+4 points impressing the judges and catching the audience's attention (randomized). Dogs must match breed standard closely, and sport good temperament (randomized) to be eligible for their tier of the generator.
+5 points for a dog exceling in the show (randomized), and meeting the standards perfectly. Only dogs who meet the standard exact will be eligible to be entered into this tier of the generator.
What tier your entry qualifies for is up to the show's current judge's discretion.
Points earned are separate for each type of show (agility, conformation, herding, dock diving, etc). Points for registered dogs will be kept track of to ensure no foul play.
