LET´S COMMUNICATE
A very interesting topic to discuss is communication, and we can define it as a process that consists of the transmission and exchange of messages between a sender and a receiver. This is the dictionary meaning of the word communication. Communication has elements that are part of this process. Communication has steps to accomplish and characteristics that define it. When we talk about communication in our English class, it is a fundamental and very important topic. Communication can be defined as an art, a skill that facilitates interpersonal relationships between human beings. Why? COMMUNICATION is a very interesting topic, in a class, session, meeting... without this element, the whole process of learning, teaching, diffusion and others will be limited. Next, we must know what the word communication means. WHAT IS COMMUNICATION? T. der. Act, gesture or attitude that allows the transfer of messages between members of a social group or between different social groups, according to the RAE. Communication is a very important process, which involves a sender, a receiver and the message that is transmitted or exchanged between people, and the message is transmitted in two ways. Communication has to be efficient and effective in order to fulfill the purpose of communication. The process of transmission of a message in communication has important elements that are part of this process such as: Sender, receiver, code, message, communication channel, noise, feedback and context. SENDER. - is the person who transmits the message. RECEIVER. - is the person who receives the message. CODE. - is the set of signs used in the message, it can be words, gestures and symbols. MESSAGE. - information that transmits. COMMUNICATION CHANNEL. - is the physical medium through which the message is sent. NOISE. - is any distortion that may influence the reception of the message. FEEDBACK. - the first instance of the receiver's response to the message received. If the sender subsequently responds to what the receiver sends, it is also called feedback. CONTEXT - the circumstance in which the communication process takes place. The steps of communication are necessary for this process and are: the intention to communicate, the encoding of the message, the transmission of the message, the reception of the message, the interpretation of the message. The characteristics that communication must have are: it requires a sender and a receiver, it is a dynamic process, it is indispensable to interact between individuals, it favors social organization, and it is impossible for it not to take place. Also when we talk about what is communication in the English class, we can say how important it is to communicate, and that this communication must be clear, effective and efficient between the teacher and the students. So much so, that an error or misrepresentation can lead to errors of the parties involved in communication, that we must investigate what is communication and thus improve this process. I can define communication as an art, skill, ability, which facilitates the process of interaction between human beings. To conclude, we clearly understand that the process of transmitting information from one person to another, known as communication, has different elements, steps and characteristics, which will allow us or become relevant tools that help us to communicate the different messages in this process of great relevance.
