Aloe falcata
This Aloe species is related to the more widely grown Aloe claviflora, but it comes from farther west in the winter-rainfall region (Namaqualand and the Tanqua Karoo). While many aloes come into flower in the winter months, this one blooms in spring to summer. Our plant is single-headed, but older plants form clusters, with their stems extending sideways along the ground.

Beautiful concentric banding in this Moctezuma half - creamy ivory and warm brown bands flow around that dark central cavity with perfect symmetry. The wide banding pattern shows excellent definition, and you can see how the agate filled the original void in flowing layers. Clean polish brings out the subtle color transitions from honey to smoky brown 🪨
