No cheesy captains; I just want to say something that I think everyone needs to hear. God throws challenges at us for a reason. Yes he loves us, but some challenges were meant to hurt us. We can't understand this all the time, but one day we will. He will take people out of our lives just as quick as he brings them in. Maybe you were best friends for six years and now you don't speak. Maybe you only got to spend two weeks with someone and somehow you think they will be in your life forever. And just when everything was going YOUR way, he snatches them up out of your life and puts them somewhere else. You think it's the end of the world, but really it's not. It doesn't matter how YOU wanted it to work out, because things only work out how God wants them to. It's hard to wrap my brain around. It's hard not to be mad at God for letting things/people hurt me. But, I trust that it has always been apart of his plan for my life. Who knows why though... Who knows why I spent two weeks showing a military man around Austin, Texas. Who knows why we crossed paths right before he had to head to South Carolina. Maybe we somehow made an impact on each other's life. Maybe I taught him something that he may hold onto forever. He taught me many things -- about life, about love, about myself. And although things aren't going to work out how I hoped for them to, I'm smiling. Why? Because I know how God works. I know he's got my back and I know he only brings these challenges into my life to better me, strengthen me, and to teach me. So yes, my heart hurts that he's gone. And yes, I feel like he took a piece of me along with him. But, that's what is suppose to happen. We take piece of people and use the experiences they gave us to the best of our abilities. So maybe one day when he thinks about his experience in Texas, he'll think of me and all the things we taught each other and he'll smile. But as for me, I'm smiling now. I thank God for all the trials and errors I go through - that's how we grow. Remember to grow through what go through and smile; even if you don't want to. (at Austin, Texas)
