Here’s a sneaky picture I took of a book about 80s childhood nostalgia I found in a bookstore once. Who knows how that g3 picture got in there, though. The quote below probably talks about a twinkle eyed pony.

Translation:

“There was, and is, a thing with girls and horses. The 80’s generation really fell for the pony with a pastel mane. It was about brushing the hair, switching clothes and reorganize in the stable. Because My Little Pony  had a full wardrobe: pants and dresses (for four legs), hats and bridal veils, brushes and several pairs of horseshoes. Our task was to play around with all the accessories. And they were very important – all the small stuff, that had to be put in a system. My Little Pony overall had a lot in common with Barbie. It was about hair, shoes and luxury. It was a horse AND Barbie all in one – and many horse loving girls thought that horse + Barbie in one = awesome. Others claimed My Little Pony could never be a worthy and complete replacement of Barbie, but rather a cool accessory or supplement to a world that was already fully functioning. Because those two fit together like a hand in a glove. Barbie was often on the guest list when My Little Pony was getting married, while My Little Pony would love to turn up when Barbie needed a horseride.”

(Anon is referencing color palettes from this post) Ooh what a fun idea with a unique selection of ponies! I love cross-gen stuff and this palette was a great challenge. Not sure what they're doing here but I think Sunburst is in way over his head and Majesty is someone that might be best left unsummoned...

Commission for @zakubabbles 💖 Some sources say she's from 1989, others say she's from 1990 (as it's usual when you try to get the release date for a doll), but the exact decade doesn't matter, she has the quintessential 80s/90s Barbie look with her big, puffy gown and multiple looks to choose from.
