2006

In celebration of the event’s 16th anniversary, a projection show was held on the Universal Studios lagoon to celebrate the studio’s legacy of horror! Army of Darkness is featured at 7:43

2009

Army of Darkness is featured in Silver Screams, the headlining house of the year! The house was essentially a compilation of moments across several horror films. Seen here are a poster from the queue and photographs from the Pit sequence from Army of Darkness (titled here ‘The MidEvil Dead’ due to licensing issues)

2017

BIG year for Evil Dead!! Ash vs. Evil Dead is a major IP house, and the comedy house of the year! For those not as versed, each year HHN has a house thats less focused on scares and doesn’t take itself too seriously (these are typically my favorites)! While neither house followed a linear structure or were sequenced in a way that someone who wasn’t a fan would understand, I prefer the Orlando version for comprehensibility and… reasons below.

I want to do a spotlight on the odd latex masks that the Hollywood event used to make the actors look more like Bruce Campbell! While there was an enormous amount of work and care put into these, I think the effect would’ve been more convincing had they gone the noses and chins route XD

Furthermore, Ash was featured heavily im promotional materials, including being on the front gate of the park, in-park signage, and in a photo op at the tribute store (the major HHN merchandising location)!

As much as I rib on some of the effects that fall flat, I am excited for whatever this year brings and I hope that I will be making a part 2 to this post in the future ;D
