Since this, I headcanon Yuri as the "I speak little, I write less" type that, once in a while, sits with own thoughts and writes an essay that would leave anyone speechless. Not even because it comes from Yuri, but because it would be peak writing for anyone.

Look me in the eyes and tell me there aren't any thoughts behind these eyes (ignore the glasses lmfao). You can't, because Yuri surely does have nights like these where he sits with own thoughts and untangles them. Usually, he just lets himself be free and stupid, but when he's alone, he sure doesn't act like that most of the time.

Thinking about Phan neglecting her and Hyunwoo, forcing them to become self-sufficient children and rely only on each other. Thinking about how Hyunwoo was the one to notice Luka, but Hyuna was the one to sit with him under the tree and count his fingers and make him smile. Thinking about the implication that she hugged him when they first met.

Thinking about a young, small, scared Hyuna freezing when her friend pinned her down to force something on her and then freezing again when her brother tried to hit said friend to defend her, resulting in fighting and a death. Thinking about how she wasn't always so brave, how she had to train this freeze reaction out of herself to avoid getting hurt or "failing" to protect a loved one again. Thinking about the guilt and grief she carried all by herself. Thinking about her losing the two people most precious to her in one day. 

Thinking about how she's the only character with an intro song about herself instead of someone else, and how ironic that is for a character so invested in saving and helping others. Thinking about the sheer power of her voice when she sings about freedom and the possibility of a better future. Thinking about her trying to save the children from Anakt garden right after losing her leg. Thinking about her bottomless empathy and her stubborn hope and how she jokingly calls herself stupid for wanting to continue Jacob's plan, but does so anyway. Thinking about her desire to always see the best in humanity. 

Thinking about how she took Mizi in and made her part of the family and barely snapped back when Mizi yelled at her. Thinking about how despite their differences and disagreements and that fight we saw, they still got close enough for Hyuna to constantly hug, kiss and fluster her. Thinking about Hyuna seeing a bit of herself and a bit of Hyunwoo and possibly a bit of Luka in Mizi and projecting a bit, but never with bad intentions.

Thinking about Hyuna insisting on doing things for the greater good, for all of humanity, but then laying down her life for one single person, for the man that, in her own words, betrayed her so cruelly. Thinking about the kindness AND resentment that it takes to call yourself a puzzle to be solved, to willingly make yourself someone's wake up call, to leave behind confusion and haunting words for that someone to think about forever. Thinking about the layers of selflessness and selfishness of this action.

Thinking about how she's been gone for seven years in canon, but her presence is still felt. How Mizi included her in the paper cut outs of her friends despite spending significantly less time with her than she did with the rest of them. How Till carries her legacy and does the things she didn't have the chance to do. How Luka still wears two black rings for mourning. How there's tear stains on her most recent birthday art.
