Anon, I don’t think I gave you enough material to say something like that. I only played him for a few posts. But this is the nicest message I’ve ever received in the RP community! Thank you so much, seriously!!!

And let’s be honest as much as I love the show, most teenage girls on the internet can write these characters better than CBS.

I don’t know if you’re still around, but I do want to come back and give Joe another shot now that the show is coming back. Hopefully more people will find interest in the community, and hopefully I’ll have a chance to roleplay with you too!

I’m definitely going to give this blog a huge makeover and rewatch the last season before I jump back in, though.

Junior was scum. Deranged, impulsive violent, self-righteous and downright douchey scum. He never liked him while he was "dating" Angie, and he was convinced that he hated the college dropout when he found out about the little stunt he pulled on Dome Day. And if Joe really wanted to, he could have convinced the psycho to get rid of himself right then and there.

But whether he liked it or not, he and Junior still had a connection-- and not just the one that the dome assigned to them. James Rennie Jr. was the only person who was even remotely as devastated by Angie's death as Joe was, and while he didn't want to admit it... They probably needed each other. So, if only just for the moment, he was ready to put his grudge aside and comfort the sobbing dragon. Maybe in return, Joe would finally get the solace he needed, too.

"Wherever she is, she's not alone." Joe wasn't exactly sure of any kind of afterlife, but he decided to put his agnosticism aside for Junior's sake. "She's with Rose, Linda, Sheriff Perkins, Mrs. Ren--" He cut himself off before finishing that last name or adding more reminders of casualties to that list. He probably made his point. "And you're..."

He was hesitant to continue with his next sentence as well, but his stupid warm heart made him spit the rest out. He sat down beside Junior and patted his back, all the while keeping his eyes fixated on the ground.

"And you're not alone either."

At random points throughout each conversation, Joe like to shoot trivia questions at Norrie about his geeky pop culture. Most of the things he asks about are common knowledge for anyone who has a Tumblr, but every once in a while he'll throw her a question that only a true geek would know the answer to. He gets more excited than he should when she responds correctly, and being a girl who knows many things, Norrie always has the right answer. Joe uses their mutual knowledge of geek culture as evidence to back up his theory that he and Norrie "totally have a thing."

He subtly crossed his fingers behind his back, the same way she did three years ago, when he made her promise not to tell their parents when she caught him on a dirty website. Granted, this promise seemed a little more serious than that, but if Angie was in any dire trouble, he knew it would be impossible to keep his mouth shut.
