Google's annual developer conference this year was less a product launch event and more a declaration of intent. The message from CEO Sundar Pichai and team was unmistakable: Google is no longer building a tool that answers questions. It is building a system that takes action on your behalf.

AI agents now live inside Google Search. They browse the internet for you, monitor topics overnight, generate custom visual interfaces on the fly, and soon, they will complete purchases without you lifting a finger. The Gemini app has been redesigned from the ground up. A new class of smart glasses is arriving this fall. And an always-on AI assistant called Gemini Spark runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on Google's own cloud infrastructure — even when your phone is off.
